    The DMC offers are confusing.

    eg the FREE 6233 & U8180 offer:

    3 months at £17.50 per phone = 3 * 17.50 * 2 = 105

    9 months at £35.00 per phone = 9*35*2 = 630

    Total outlay = 735.

    Total cashback = 393.06

Net outlay = 341.94 for two phones over 12 months

= £14.20 per month per phone

Although the offer does state :
As part of this deal your will receive all this for 99p per month for the first 6 months

Is that before or after the cashback? If it's before then why state that:
The line rental for the first 3 months is £17.50 per month and £35.00 per month thereafter on each phone, this will be direct debited from your bank account.

    it works like this:
    3 x 17.50 x 2 =105
    9 x 35 x 2 = 630
so as you say total is 735

however they offer 99p rental for the 1st 6 months after cashback (it cant mean before it wouldnt make sense). so for that theyd have to refund you:

total rental 1st 6 months is

    (2 x 17.50 x 3) + (2 x 35 x 3) = 315

total refund for 1st 6 months is

    315 - (6 x 99p) = 309.06

total rental 2nd 6 months is

    2 x 6 x 35 = 420

total refund for 2nd 6 months is

    6 x 14 = 84

    total cashback is

    84 + 309.06 = 393.06 as stated on offer

i will phone cityfones tomorrow and see what their response is when challenged with the info...
It says they have 48 telesales staff. Try calling them a few times in a row - if you don't get a different person each time then it's looking dodgy! I tried searching Google for them, and only came up with their site and this thread. Surely if they'd been around for the last 7 years someone else would have written an article about them at some point.

So, does the total monthly cost for one phone =

    (735 - 393.06)/24 = £14.25, as per my calcs?

yes, it would be that much without any downgrade. however remember 3 allow you to start downgrading after 6 months making it cheaper, i usually tend to downgrade to the cheapest tariff, pay off any remaining months and get a new deal

As in DMC couldn't tell me if I would pay:

    1) £17.50 for the three months followed by £35.00 for three months for the first six months of the contract

    or

    2) if I would pay 99p per month for the first six months of the contract.

Oddly enough, DMC's offers have changed:

    http://www.dmcdirect.co.uk/dmc/index.asp

    http://www.dmcdirect.co.uk/dmc/deal.asp?d=1 appears to be £1.50 per month per phone, 800 + 500 for 3 months, 400 + 250 for 3 months, 100 + 100 for the last 6 months.
  • Hi,

does anyone have the number to cityfones? Especially the phone number that was on the website.

Or a phone number that works and goes to cityfones.

    Help will be very appreciated.
