Live in the yorkshire Dales no post for a week! I have posted loads out and have been told on certain items that Guaranteed next day delivery is not an option! to Northumberland and Scotland, Scarborough and the East coast. But I still have to pay to be insured!!

what, did you think you would get a discount?
they may get there next day but do you really expect RM to be able ot predict what airports will be open, what roads/rail/what mail centres will have problems/what vans will get stuck etc etc

I'm in Lincs and no foot post for a week now, I had a van delivery on Tuesday but nothing since.

No bins emptied either, I've just checked the council website and they won't now be emptied until week commencing 13th, just glad it's only the silver bin and recycling can be bagged and they'll take that aswell.

    it varies
even one postcode area may get deliveries in certain parts
for example a nice modern housing estate can be easier to deliver to in snow as its mainly all even under foot
older areas can have uneven ground, tight slippy stairs etc

We've not had post for 3 days. Am a little surprised as we haven't had anymore snow and a lot has disappeared. Annoying really, but what can you do eh.

As has been said - the postman doesn't decide whether he goes out or not. A manager would make that decision.
