  • I picked DS2 up from Preschool and thought I saw a penny on the floor - bent down to pick it up and realised it was a big shiny sequin . The Nursery Teacher looked at me like I was barmy so I told her DD likes shiny things :o:o:o

    lmao...good quick response!!:T

In a few weeks there will be lots of party popper cardboard bottoms on floors everywhere, now be warned these look just like 10p from a distance, especially after a seasonal sherry :rotfl:

Hey everyone. Well my first offering to the Tin of Hopes and Laptops went in last night - £1.70. There is some change in there already, but I can't open my tin, so not sure what there is. Just think, it could be a pile of £2 coins - ooh, that'd be a nice surprise for this time next year. Very doubtful though :o

Will be out looking for corridor kill at work tomorrow - love that term :p

MummyBigBum,an amazing beginning with the lottery winnings etc! :T

Bad luck about the sequin, frasersmum...though the Teacher is possibly one of us and had already tried picking it up herself!!! :rotfl:

I'm not saying a word, teeni and will leave that to the others! ;)

That's still a good start, xXMessedUpXx. It'll gradually creep on up.

LC2, I reckon sarky's one of thouse guys that never sleeps; he should have been a copper and always on the beat! :D

A very good warning about the party popper cardboard bottoms, misskaytee, it's happened to me on occasions...I'll still need to tread on them or kick them just to make sure though! :D

An excellent start, JoeyGrey, well done. I love the title of your tin.

Great news, juno, let's hope it really does happen for you. :)

Great savings everyone. Don't worry about days when you don't get too much (or anything at all) it always picks up ....excuse the pun! :D

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The
parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.

Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious
and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to
change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only
polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could
think of to 'clean up' the bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot.
The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the
parrot got angrier and even more rude. John, in desperation,
threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the
freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked
    and screamed.
Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard
    for over a minute.

Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened
the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out
onto John's outstretched arms and said "I believe I
may have offended you with my rude language and
actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my
inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do
everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude.

As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a
dramatic change in his behavior, the bird spoke-up, very
softly, "May I ask what the turkey did?" :rotfl:

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

    HI Sparky

See what I mean I was in there yesterday. "Where was it ? "

"What time did you find it ? "

    "What condition was it in?"

" What year is it ?"

and hand on heart are you really sure it hasn't a label on saying this belongs to LC 2 ?
