The boy and I are returned from the north and tucked up in his room with junk food until tomorrow. We've transferred the contents of his penny jar in to his new 'sealed' pot...let the battles for the change commence!

I've a few small ones tucked away ready to go in my bottle as soon as I can get back in to the house (landladys away until new year and I can't remember the alarm code, so need to get up to the house when the dog sitter is in).
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Great news about your kiddies and their bikes, jakes-mum! Oh, I could picture them both in my mind's eye so easily..a wonderful sight. :A

Good news from you too, yorkshire-lad. You're on course to work it all off then, :j good for you.

No worries, Caz, I guessed the Christmas pud was possibly a once a year thing. It is with me too...lovely stuff! Any luckwith your Lurcher pup yet or does it depend on your house-sitting money?

Thanks for the jog about the coca cola bottle with the slot in the top, fishcakes, sounds a bargain for £3 at 2' tall. :D Good to hear what your MIL gets up to at 77 years old too!!!

An excellent curtain bargain, rachelww1, well spotted and good for MIL!!

Another with an eye for a bargain then, henna, well done and certainly saves later.

Hiya scuba, hope you've both had a really lovely time.

It's great to almost feel the buzzing of this thread everyone, and so good to 'hear' you're all enjoying it so much too. Have to admit it's the best encouragement I've ever had. Keep at it, ALL...more hope for roadkill now the snow's beginning to go too....so long as you don't allow sparky to get to it first!!! ;)

Sue x Anyone else wishing to join, say the word, you're most welcome and it's never too late.

  • Hi,
I would like to join the challenge please.
We have been saving our lose change for LO since he was born and been putting it in his [STRIKE]piggy[/STRIKE] cow bank (mainly coppers). We emptied it out and took most of it to the bank before Xmas and he had £53 lucky boy, he's only 18months!
Were going to keep on doing this him and thought it might be fun to do it as a challenge.

  • Hello, I would love to join this sealed pot challenge, have a sealed biscuit tin that I have been putting coppers and 5p's in for last few months,,no clue as to what the total is, am leaving it there till its full, just keep adding to it!
I will run another new tin alongside for bigger change, this will be my challenge tin, so looking forward to it, I was collecting £2 coins last yr for a bit but kept delving into them when we needed busfare/dinner money, but they definitely helped us out being there!!
good luck to all and thankyou for all who post tips and advice all really helps me ;-)
Life happens when you are busy making other plans ;)
