Herbaholic, I think its like that all over nowadays. Libraries have to keep themselves open and funded and lots of people don't read nowadays. I try not to buy books until I've read what I've got. I've got a pile of about 15 waiting to be read but I'm still often tempted if I go into a book shop. I do buy from charity shops often and also borrow from my daughter who reads constantly like me and only reads new books.

  • I love nuts but am not a peanut butter fan. However, I bought a jar to use for Seed Health Bars, posted months ago by Toxic Lemon. They are really delicious. If you want the recipe then do a "search" or let me know and I can PM you.

Where can I get the snickers muffins recipe Lynz? I just looked at Nigella's website and nothing there, buying cookery books is a no, no on the new budget and the local library is pants.

My favourite peanut butter treat is a humble peanut butter & banana sarnie has to be wholemeal bread though, yummy!

If you would like Nigella's snicker muffin recipe it is on this website promoting her book http://foodaholic.wordpress.com/2006/05/11/my-nigella-moment-snickers-peanut-butter-muffins/ I hope its the one you want.

I bought a massive (1kg!!) jar of UNROASTED and UNSALTED peanut butter by mistake!

Does anyone have any ideas on making it more palatable??

It's disgusting as it is...and I'm a true peanut butter fan so it's not like I don't like the stuff usually.

My yummy tip: make PB cookies and sandwich them with raspberry jam...mmmmm!!!

    Peanut Butter sauce for icecream:

melt equal quantities of peanut butter and syrup (with some raisins mixed in if you like) Spoon over vanilla icecream. Delicious!

Peanut Butter Squares: These are great, similar to Nigella's but with digestive biscuits for extra crunch.

    200g digestive biscuits, roughly crushed
    125g butter
    225g peanut butter
    40g raisins

    chocolate to top

Melt butter, stir in peanut butter.
    Add biscuit and raisins
Press mixture into a 18*28cm tin and chill to harden.
    Top with melted chocolate
Allow to set then cut into squares.
  • Try a spoon or two in your curry. Makes it creamy and exotic, especially if you add some coconut as well.
