Too much spent on children at Christmas

I'm with the others on this. make them the noticeboards. Ok so it's not on their list but that doesnt mean they wont appreciate it.
My logic to my lists is not to give specific items but to say the children are into these things....... usually a character like dora or thomas & if they can find something in that range thats fantastic, whether it costs £1 of £20 isnt the point.
I did actually tell my sister off the other year for spending too much on my children. She asked what they wanted & i said they had lots of toys so some nice clothes would be good. She went to next & spent £30 each, which might not seem like loads but I have 4 children & she doesn't have loads of money. I wouldnt have minded so much but it was only a skirt & top the girls got & the boys, jeans & a top. She could have got something equally nice in somewhere like H&M, tesco or george for half the price. The children were more impressed that she came to christmas dinner with us that year & they got to spend extra time with her.
hugs
