im going to be starting this now as my new years resolution!!
have just bought the S&G set on offer and am getting a ted baker set for christmas so no more toiletries untill ive used these!!
the only thing i allow myself to buy when i still have some at home unused is the no7 face wipes when i have a no7 voucher! ... i refuse to pay £7 for them and theyre the only face wipes that suit my skin!

honestly though i reckon i have enough body butter to last me like 2 years!!! i will resist bargains now!

you and me both...and prob many more people.

I'm going to do a full inventory after xmas (because I know I've got at least 2 sets of soap and glory coming my way, a body shop gift voucher and I'm sure I'll be hitting the boots boxing day sale, mostly for gifts but I'm sure a couple of things will fall into the basket for me) then I'll be able to see clearly what I need (ha NOTHING) and how much I've got of what.

and I defo won't be buying that soap and glory hair mask again, it's made my hair super greasy and in need of a wash before one is due. ah well it's used up now and I haven't got another one lurking in anywhere :)
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*
No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!

  • A UU AngelFish Volumising spray - it was ok but not as good as the serum and leave in conditioner that I have used.

Wishing you all a very merry christmas and a happy new year!
  • I concur with the comments about how this forum actually makes us more aware of bargains and we therefore (might... :p ?) buy more than we would have otherwise. Well, that's my excuse. After all, for starters I didn't know Boots had an offer of the week  before seeing a thread on here...

Am I complaining? No, not at all! :T

Pampering has been non existent for me recently, it's taken all my energy to keep clean. I've had a very severe case of the flu, they suspect it's the dreaded swine flu. Today is the first day my temperature has been within normal limits so hopefully I'm on my way to recovery. I plan to do a full stocktake in the new year and then make a real effort to use all products before buying any more.

Rosemary I'm really pleased for you that your last son will make it home after all.

I didn't get the S&G set as both my stores had sold. But I don't need it as I've loads of S&G stuff already!
I have, however, got quite a confession to make, boughts loads in the Body Shop sale but the prices were great and they will be used as presents in the future.:)
Have a great Christmas everyone xx
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

  • the body shop hemp hand cream is the best I've ever found, I worked as a cleaner while at uni and my hands were trashed, this sorted them out in no time....just saying in case this one doesn't work :)

Thanks for the tip, I believe there's a hemp body shop handcream lying around at my parent's house, so I'll give it a try while I'm there, and perhaps acquire it if it suits me! :D

One out - gave away my Aussie leave in conditioning spray which I've had for years. It doesn't do anything for me, and I've finally admitted that I will never use it.

I was thwarted in my attempt to buy a new blusher though! Just saw the 30% off HQhair code on another thread and tried to buy Nars orgasm blush, but it came up as Deep throat whenever I tried to check out! Very frustrating as I've never seen Nars on offer elsewhere and have wanted that blusher for ages! Has anyone else experienced the same problem with that site?

Pickle you're right, i'd never heard of S& G before i joined and i'm almost glad i have excema so i daren't risk trying it.
I do find that the thread does make me obsessed about trying to finish bottles, and i was surprisingly and unreasonably dissapointed that my friend bought me Sanctury things for christmas when i do love them.
I am going to have to give up on the Dove shower gel though before i've finished the bottle as i've now got patches on my skin which are really itchy again and it's probably the lanolin which is causing it. It is annoying me though that i can't finish the bottle.
Take care Lemon Tree - I had to give up on a Palmolive shower gel as it brought me out in a rash! So not worth it. I think they are constantly changing formulations so maybe you were ok with the ingredients and now not - maybe too much of that lanolin stuff.

Right I've been missing in action (MIA). I hope you are ALL proud of yourself as I, having said I wouldn't, bought the S&G set. I know, I know such a bl**dy hypocrite! I'm not going to try and justify to say I paid with points (although that does feel good) nor that my back ached carrying the ruddy thing (note to S&G for goodness sake do it in a more user friend size!). Nope, nothing can excuse it.....:o

Think we are going to have to rethink our strategy for 2011 - this is becoming a specialised grabbit board for beauty stuff - eeek! :rotfl:

I think we'll need to do some serious photos of our stashes and some inventories of how much we all have. Order! Order! :A

ok i have what is probably a completely useless question.
If you have full sized bottles of things and minatures in gift sets would you use up the small ones first knowing that you're breaking into a gift set which you could give away as a gift if the situation called for it, or would you use up the individual bottles first?
This is the dilemma i have as i have loads of gift sets which i'm not sure i would use all the bits of.

Think it depends. Are the things in the gift sets smaller versions of the bigger items, or different?
