i've just had a look at my mega list and have come to the conclusion that i must never use toiletries. The list doesn't seem to have shrunk in anyway and i still have huge boxes of the things. This just is not fair!

Hey Ladies. Hope you are all keeping well. Not had much chance to post lately as have been super busy with one thing or another. I have so far managed to avoid spending any money on toiletries in December and did quite well only spending £15 last month. Unfortunately this month I have a few more-expensive necessary spends – face powder, mascara and touch! !clat are about to run out. I usually use Benefit powder (dandelion) and mascara. Does anyone have any cheaper recommendations or a good alternative for touch! !clat? I’ve been stuck in a make-up rut so would be good to try something new. Stay warm!
I like clinique concealer, but have you treid any of the online sites such as half price perfumes(esp through Quidco or similar) as they tend to have them cheaper

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news missfit but from previous reviews on this thread, those who use the dandelion can't find anything comparable for less money. Same with the touche eclat. Some things it seems are "worth it"!
If you're after new make up ideas ask Jacks, she could make up the world with her stash ;) althoug I would avoid her children in need night face :). Seriously though, why not go along to a make up counter and get done over? They may be able to show you a new way of life. Or have a look at some of the tips on youtube, there are lots of make up peeps on there.
No UU's for me. I will soon finish a couple of things which were nearly full sizes though :D
and I HAVE finished the christmas shopping :D:D:D:D

No7 does a similar concealer to Touche Eclat, I like it. :) But I don't have dark circles, I rarely use it except after a really late night... so I may not be the best person to ask.

I can't find anything as good as Dandelion though, I wouldn't be without the stuff! ;) Try Google shopping or price comparison websites to find it cheaper.

Re mascara, I lurve 2True from Superdrug - their range is always 3 for £5!!! HTH.

i second google shopping - it saves me a FORTUNE.

Go onto https://www.google.co.uk and search for shopping - it should bring up the link for Google shopping, click on this and when loaded it should look slightly different from normal Google IYSWIM.
Enter 'dandelion benefit' or a variant and then click search; if you then choose from the drop down menu to list in order of price low to high, you may spot a bargain - just be aware of eBay as there may be some counterfeit sellers out there, and if you find a cheaper cosmetics site, check out the cashback sites (quidco or topcashback) to see if you can save even more!
Also check out the grabbit board by a general search and discount threads....

    http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=benefit+dandelion&scoring=p&cat=2571&lnk=catsugg&ei=niP-TNm2O5Tg2gSH-InqCA&sa=X&ved=0CDoQhggoAA

...sorry for boring everyone and sorry if I was preaching to the converted - if I save one person a couple of pennies then it is more than worth it :) x

Some predicted UU for tonight, I'm struggling at work today just want to curl up on the sofa with a duvet and sleep and watch Dawson's Creek for some strange reason - will have to look out my boxset this weekend!! I think something must have reminded me of it yesterday as I had a yummy dream about Joshua Jackson last night :rotfl: naughty roshy!

Sooo predicted UU are...drum roll please...
1x John Freida Colour Mousse conditioner - came with the hair dye WIBA yes I liked the hair dye and this came with it, seems very nourishing but I am partial to JF hair care anyway (since the glitch in Tesco last year!)
1x Soap & Glory Jam Session body wash WIBA No, I inherited it from my sister - we can't stand the smell! I think its supposed to be blueberry which I love but it's very sickly and horrible, but in true MSE fashion (and getting sick of the sight of it on the shelf) I will UU tonight!
1x BS grapefruit body scrub WIBA it's ok but I do tend to find the BS scrubs a bit greasy, and it leaves a film on my skin. I want to start using a loofa when my scrubs are UU but don't know if it's worth it - will encourage me to UU shower creams more often rather than soap in the shower too. (I also want to see if the hype behind body brushing really works in time for summer lol)
I will also be hunting down body lotions as a body butter i was sent to trial is on it's last legs too. I feel a pamper evening coming on!

Have a good day ladies xx
  • Hi ladies. Thanks for all your advice. I will look into some of these options. My sister used to work on a make up counter at House of Fraser so I'm used to getting a discount and freebies but as they say 'all good things come to an end'. I've remembered I've got a boots voucher for a tenner so will put that towards my Dandelion. It's a real shame Benefit never do any offers / giveaways like other brands. I guess they don't need to. I've found Touche Eclat on CheapSmells.com for £17.50 which is a bit of a discount. Will have a ponder on the mascara. Thanks again.
  • benefit do usually have a 15% off online - not sure if its still going

15% off Benefit at Debenhams at the moment-instore and online till Sunday.
I usually use Benefit's Coralista-would Dandelion be too much on pale skin and blonde hair?
  • where I've used dandelion before, its a lot lighter than coralista and more subtle, perhaps go instore and try some?

    HTH :) x
