i dont think not having a car automatically means people get their shopping delivered?
Yes I walk everywhere or cycle but thats ok when you only need a few things but I cant carry heavy items when I do a full weeks shopping so I find the online shopping ideal.
then you have to make more trips?
thats what i do when we dont have/use the car0 -
i dont see what the problem is, as usual a few members try and make out issues are the posters fault, SO WHAT if people want their shopping delivered. its a service the shop offer as people will take it up Its their perogative. There are plenty of people with cars who just would rather not have to go and get their cars stuck/ risk accidents on these roads, and people whom would rather take numerous cars off the road by getting their shopping delivered.
some people have better things to do with their time than struggling with numerous bags of shopping on foot or on buses and baiting people on forums.
dont feel the need to justify why you need your shopping delivered to people who are no better than trolls, they contribute nothing to this forum other than to discourage people from coming back, and are no better than trolls in my opinion. just try to have a little patience with the weather and the brave people bothering to turn up to try and carry their jobs out.0 -
do people really rely on shopping being delivered nowadays?:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Lots of people do, for a variety of reasons, be they Old, Disabled, or heavily pregnant, there are many reasons people depend on the delivery service, ultimately if a delivery service is available, people are perfectly entitled to use it whatever their reasons.
Couldn't agree more and I thought it was a stupid question from the poster who queried it.
Of course some people rely on home deliveries, be it food, letters or products and if they didn't then companies like Royal Mail would not be needed and then what would the poster have to say about that as he is their biggest supporter!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

my thats quite a rant. my point was how many people genuinely rely on deliveries rather than use it as an option.0 -

oh im liking this.so many posters to choose from.
how many people get their groceries delivered by RM?
so my query was do people genuinely rely on deliveries for their shopping.
as the replys have shown for many it will be a convenience choice.meaning they dont rely on them.given the topic is about grocery shopping i would assume you would have worked that ever so slight difference......
As for being RMs biggest supporter,i think you need to go back and read through my posts to justify sich a statement0 -

of course they are but as i said how many rely on it.
most of the folks here will be maligning it because it has removed their convenience not necessity0 -
I guess it depends on how many people are Old, Disabled or heavily pregnant, and then some.......the figure could be a small as a few hundred or as big as a few thousand, to give you an accurate count, one would have to see the records. I could just as easily ask how many people rely on the Royal Mail and how many depend on it.
I personally prefer to do my own shopping, I like to choose the freshest items, or decide what to replace unavailable items with and ensuring my tins are dent free, but I wont deny having used it once or twice myself.
If the service is available to everyone, I find it irrelevant as to how many people opt to use it, its there so people CAN use it, whether for convenience, necessity, dependency or just for the sake of it.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

They've cancelled it again, I could cry.. My partner has been away since Thursday with work too.... !!! I'm using my local co-op but there must be several other people in the same boat, as the co-op is looking very scarce for fresh veg and it had a limited choice to start with. They'd sold out of bread last night, they said they get a delivery every Morning so need to try later but my son has had a tonic clonic seizure this morning and is now sleeping it off...
And we haven't had any snow for two days, and the roads look fine!!!! I've had all my online shopping deliveries...?! I wish I could try other Supermarkets, but they don't deliver in my area.... But might go on bus to Iceland or Somerfield/big co-op this afternoon and see if they'll deliver out to me. I've never liked Tesco before, when my dp wasn't working these hours we hardly ever did an online shop and went elsewhere [hence why I think they gave me 5 x £10+ online shopping tokens with my clubcard statement.. which I now cannot use [as they have to be within certain dates]... I just hope my son doesn't have a tonic-clonic seizure whilst we're out and about.0 -
Snow is melting here today but know the roads will be really icy again tomorrow, worried about our order that is due tomorrow now 12-2.
I stockpiled the few foods I can eat at Asda Monday when I knew bad weather was coming in, but that's getting low, not been able to venture out since, maybe if worst comes to worst I will get a taxi there and back to Asda again Monday if they don't deliver.0
