virus software wont get off laptop

Hi, I have had exactly the same virus on my laptop. OH tried everything, including downloading various virus removal programes using our main computer and a USB Drive. In the end he had to restore the laptop back to a few days earlier and this sorted it. Sorry not very techie myself but hopefully someone else can explain how to do this!

virus program is called THINK POINT - worlds leading solution and has sometihng very similar to the flying windows logo on it

just tried that peter and the damn virus thing remained the same size, so more got lost behind it

and yorkshirelass, just tried opening system restore but again, the virus box/text is covering all of th restore window, so i cant even grab i and drag it into view

can you make a copy of all the processes running from the task manager (once the show all box is ticked) and post it ???

Have you tried using a rescue disc to scan on boot? If not, you can get one from Kapersky, called rescue disk 10

Some viruses can include themselves within system restore so you may need to look at that if you reboot the PC after repairing it and Think Point appears
