Evening all, just have a little announcement to make. I shall be letting the moths out of my purse for some fresh air tomorrow, so I am proud to declare my final total of NSDs for December. (Drum roll...rrrrrrr....14 !!!!!!) Yup, 14 of the little blighters in the bag!

Now - can I register 12 NSDs for January, please?

Tomorrow I am on night shift, so can I suggest we have an all day New Years Eve celebration? One where we pop in and out to grab a drinky poo, nibble a turkey vol au vent and dance with the donkey? Igor says he can get the hog roast going from 6 a.m., but I am not so sure - last time I saw him he was chasing a huge pig with a broom handle and a box of Swan Vestas......and we must have the year's Oscars for the various categories e.g. most NSDs ever in a month, most NSDs in a row, most inventive use for leftover turkey.....and of course the heroine of the hour award to Mistress Spoon for her tireless work in co-ordinating and organising the thread.

Catch you all at some point tomorrow..this is going to be a New Year to remember (I, too, am a miserable sod when it comes to seeing in the New Year, which is why I am glad I am at work for it.)

2 more to declare for me please Spoon - taking me to 15 overall. Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow yet but fairly certain it will involve spending somewhere.

Hello... I've managed 3 more since I last posted, taking mt to 12. I might get one more tomorrow as I'm working night shift too... but I'll wait to declare as I might need to pick up food en route (the cupboards are a little bare).

Either way, I'll not quite make 14 but that's ok as I never thought I'd get this far in December! And it's not so long ago when I found 10 impossible so 12 or 13 in December when everything has been chaos and planning ahead has not been happening, is pretty good going!

I haven't caught up yet but need to catch up on some sleep noe so I hope you are all doing well. And here's to a prosperous 2011!

Keri I'd call those tops an absolute bargain! I mean you must have saved more than you spent surely?! And after all by not going into your second faviorite shop you stopped before you spent any more!

CRISIS looming here.........I have just put the last 5 potatoes in the oven! Wen I run out of spuds I am convinced the world is going to come to an end

Thanks janeawej, I hadn't thought of working out what I'd saved on the tops (I usually feel that I'm cheating if I do that since I've still spent, but it would deff be interesting) You're not alone on the spud front - I go into meltdown too (bit like some people and toilet rolls ...you know who you are :rotfl:)
Well said 3Dogs - we've all done really well this year, and thank you to everyone who has made me feel so welcome since I joined in Aug. Big thanks to Mistress Spoon for keeping us all in check too. xx

Well done Kerri on the bargains and top marks for the mattress manoevre:money: !

Thanks jinty - my OH thought i was a little crackers but when I told him it saved us £20-odd he soon came round to my way of thinking :rotfl:

Nargle - welcome to the bah humbug NYE club  I think that's a great idea to have a drop in/out celebration, perhaps we can dust the Tardis off at some point and take it for a wee jaunt...but if there's food and drink around all day we'd better set up 'Hubert watch' - especially after St Andrews Day

We've been out visiting friends for the evening - back somewhat later than planned but just had some of the meat free/nut roast shepherds pie I made last night - and it was scrummy (not to blow my own trumpet :o), why is it food always tastes better the day after it's cooked...even reused leftovers? AND my wonderful OH has treated me to my new tops  I'm a very lucky gal. Still a spendy day for me as I paid parking, but what the heck!

    ...well 24hrs and 6mins of 2010 left....the countdown begins to a debt-busting, NSD'ing 2011.....

Great idea, Nargle, the Tardis will be on standby in case anyone feels like a trip somewhere exotic (or not so exotic). Hog roast sounds good, let's hope Igor managed to catch the pig:D:D

Hmm.... most inventive use for leftover turkey....... nappy for Hubert maybe, could we get his hind legs through the turkey's neck.... now there's a thought:D:D

And a big thanks to you, 3 Dogs, kerri and anyone else who's thanked me for all the work on this thread. Actually it's a pleasure, not a chore, now that I've found a balance. You're a great bunch of people and you keep me amused with your lovely posts so a big THANK YOU to all of you:A
