I think that one alone would send anyone reading the 'rules' (with a view to joining in) running in the opposite direction

was just reading your guidleines BigMumma....think you forgot two very important points

    a) We are all as nutty as a box of frogs so please do not exepct high brow sensible discussions on this thread....(although we do give lots of hugs and support ;))

    b) Under no circumstances whatsoever must Hubert be fed when the Tardis is in motion - the consequences are just to dire

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Love 'em kerri:rotfl:. If anyone were in any doubt about point a, reading point b would convince them we are as nutty as a box of frogs:D:D

I do remember writing a sort of Guidelines thing but can't find it, even though I went back to August :o so if I forget anything, you guys jump in OK? I'll edit & then when we've got it right, folk can copy & paste as the Thread goes along.

    NO SPEND CHALLENGE.

    1. Have a good, long think about what YOU want to include in your Spend & Excluded categories.

Some of us count everything from Direct Debits & School expenses, while others do not include things like essential Bills or emergency medical costs. If you plan what is or is not a Spend for you now, it will help you decide on a realistic Target.

    2. It is NOT a race!

We all have very different demands on our time & bank balance, so please do not think you have to buy everything on 1st January & make it last till 31st December! A few of us have been following this Challenge for a long...long...LONG time so have developed plans & ploys to help us along the way wink2.gif

    3. Most important of all, WE..DO..NOT..FAIL!

Sometimes we can't quite reach our Target, but that is fine :) Everyone knows how Life will try to trip us up, & that is when you will find us here to help you back on to your feet.

There are no silly questions so don't be afraid to ask us anything!

Like it BigMumma, thanks for doing this:A:A

Just wondering if we should include something about deciding what area(s) of spending is/are being targetted to help decide what to include eg:

Have a good, long think about the spend area(s) you want to target (eg buying lunch every day) and then about what you want to include in your spend and excluded categories.

That's something that is asked a lot, thought it might be helpful to spell it out.

    Any thoughts/comments?

You're 100% right that your FIL would not be happy if you didn't have the usual NYD celebrations -and I bet that he'll be watching from 'up there' and joining in too (watch out for the lights and other electrics doing funny things on that day.....)

Funny you should say that, Kerri, since he passed away there have been several "incidents". My BIL had recently converted part of his house into a "granny flat" for MIL & FIL and they had only moved in a few months ago. FIL was a right joker and there have been lots of things going on that would have been typical of him. ;) We've ordered some sky lanterns (eco friendly, of course), which we will take on New Years Day and whoever wants to can light one in his memory and send it "up there". I thought that might be a nice way of remembering him:)

Anyhoo, going for another NSD today. I'm getting my hair done ( cut and roots touched up) but I have the money set aside from my spend day yesterday. No plans to go anywhere else so shouldnt spend over and above that.

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.
