I've done that in the past and it means you don't get fed up with eating turkey forever.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Spoony - I did ponder about freezing the cooked turkey but didn't want to poison myself - wish I'd known I could before my vat of turkey casserole :doh:I have 4 portions in the freezer and still 1/2 left  still, will deff freeze the rest to use later in the year - I REALLY can't face any more now.
Bigmumma - I meant tomato soup followed by chocs whilst enjoying a cuppa - not actually soup and choc at the same time :rotfl:This year will be the first without FIL and it will be very hard because he loved New Years Day with his family. We are all just going to rally round and have it anyway, as he would have hated it if we didnt go ahead as usual.
Well not a NSD for me - but my roots have now been attended to and I can almost pass for a natural blondeTook a top back to Primarni and popped into Mr T for milk but was far too busy with ratty sales shoppers to bother looking for anything else - which is prob a good thing.
Just cooked up the left over nut roast into a 'shepherds pie' adding some well known meat free 'mince' and a few other left overs - not too shabby if I so say so myself. Right...off to freeze the rest of that s*dding turkey..... tootle pip!Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Advance apologies for the length of this post, have just had a mammoth catch up!!
Welcome to all the newbies, & don't believe Spoon, we aren't at all mad this thread is a haven of sedate chat :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: *wonders why everyone is looking at me & wondering if i'm in the right place*Kerri - I'm with you on the NYE feeling. I hate that "forced jolliness" feeling of Hogmanay. That's a terrible confession for a Scot!:o
I love New Year's Day though! We go to my inlaws and there's a big family gathering of four generations and assorted aunties uncles, neighbours, kids. It's all very good natured and we have a big meal and usually a bit of singing, if someone gets the guitar out;) We have a good laugh and a bit of banter. This year will be the first without FIL and it will be very hard because he loved New Years Day with his family. We are all just going to rally round and have it anyway, as he would have hated it if we didnt go ahead as usual.
I'm with you both on the NYE feeling too!!!
Your new years day sounds lovely though Jinty, & i agree with Kerri, FIL would have wanted you to have the best time you could, i know it will be strange, but i hope all goes well & you are able to smile at your memories of him x
My nsds reached adultery yesterday
Well 2 more for me (gutted it wasn't more over xmas, but the whole mother not wanting to stay in the house situation sort of scuppered me), so that is 12 now please Spoon & target met :j:jFebruary NSD challenge 5/150 -
And after 5 minutes thinking (& ordering a new bath!!), i think i'll up my target to 14 please Spoon, that will ensure i keep my purse closed for the rest of the month!!February NSD challenge 5/150

a) We are all as nutty as a box of frogs so please do not exepct high brow sensible discussions on this thread....(although we do give lots of hugs and support)
b) Under no circumstances whatsoever must Hubert be fed when the Tardis is in motion - the consequences are just to dire
