I'll send you some of mine Chery

    Ooooo..... yes purleeeze :D

I used to buy a turkey that would feed 15-18 people for 2 adults and 3 children, so you can imagine the left-overs (and stock) I had for using up over the next week or six :rotfl:

No more to add - yesterday and today both spendy days BUT I am very pleased with todays bargains :) Sorry to repeat myself (for those of you on the CG thread aswell) but

I saw great gift for a friend's son (will be put away for his birthday - £39.97 reduced to £12.97 :D) so I picked up some more heavily reduced items aswell.
I got 2 packs of 2 salmon fillets for 60p each,
2 packs of chunky cod fishcakes for 17p each,
2 packs of 4 malted baps for 16p each,
    500g minced lamb for 49p,
8 pack of sausages for 30p,
    500g parsnips for 15p,
    lamb steaks for 60p,
4 round slices of lorn sausage for 19p
    a whole swede for 8p

but after discount and some coupons I only paid £11.98 which was less than the reduced price for the toy - one very happy chappy at my little bargains today.

NSD - target 18 days, so far 5!!

Well not another NSD for me as I had originally expected as I ended up going out into town with the OH and bought some suncream which although an essential as I am going on holiday on Sunday it was something I had completely forgot about and as I have usually had it in stock I couldn't believe the price of it! Needless to say a Sup3rdru9 came up trumps!

Will definitely be a spendy day for me tomorrow which I have already factored in so that isn't bad. On the plus side I found around 23 euros when tidying up which will come in very handy for the holiday :T

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Well....I now have a VAT of turkey casserole and will be serving some up for the NSD New Year Shin-dig. Seriously I have no idea how I managed to make so much and even if I freeze portions I am not sure I will ever eat my way through it all.... might have to palm a portion off on one of my friends....mum....neighbours....milkman :rotfl:

I am declaring a NSD today though :j that takes me NSD tally to 13 not sure I'll make any more this month, hair tomorrow, I am thinking about mooching in the sales on Thurs and i guess we will be going on on Fri - though that's not a given yet (always find New Years Eve a bit depressing and an anti-climax and could quite happily trough some mulled wine and be in bed before the bells... it's not my age, actually I've always found NYE a bit of a let down) Sorry, didn't mean to be bah-humbug! :o

I'm having a bit of a brain sesh...how do you think this sounds.

You know how you do the Notice to Newbies thing with the first post on a new page talking about trolls......what if we did the same sort of thing on here on how to start your Challenge? Even if we only did it for a couple of months, & January is notoriously busy on here? Just a suggestion of course!

Brilliant idea, BigMumma,:j that would be great for Jan and Feb when lots of newbies are bound to be joining up.

You did something very similar on one of the earlier threads, would you mind putting something together? If you don't have time, I'm happy to do it, but would really like your advice on what to put in there..

    Hope that's OK
    xx

Right.....turkey & sweetcorn chowder made...turkey casserole in the oven....any other (sensible) suggestions of what to do with (still more) leftover turkey?????

Freeze it in one or two portion sizes, kerri, then defrost it and put it in different casseroles, risottos, etc - add at the last minute as it's already cooked. It will keep for at least 6 months if wrapped well, although it might disintegrate a bit when you reheat it, but that doesn't really matter if it's being added to casseroles, etc.

I've done that in the past and it means you don't get fed up with eating turkey forever.

    Hope that helps.

Hope I haven't overlooked anyone who has made their target since Friday, sorry if I have, please let me know and I'll give you a special mention.

PS: Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, from reading all the posts it seems as though you all had a good day, albeit relieved it's all over for another year:D

PPS: Nargle - sorry about your OH. Difficult situation to be in when your OH has different spending priorities to you. Stick to your guns and fingers crossed he'll see the light. As others have said, if you need a rant, you know where we are. Thinking about you and wishing you luck xx
