Hello peeps and welcome to 30andfabulous and Brownsuga, the more the merrier, and remember every NSD counts. Indeed, some of us are pathetically grateful for every one that happens! The Spoonmeistress will no doubt add you both to the front page when she has shaken off the Christmas lurgy.

Had a big spendy session in Sainsbugs today, but got a bargain or two eg reduced price chicken breasts, enough for tonight's curry and the rest for the freezer to make two future meals. I am at work tomorrow and Thursday, and will leave my purse at home, so should clock up another couple NSDs, no worries!

Hmm quick question, if I am paying a bill does that count as a spend day or a no-spend day?

depends on whether you count bill payments as a spend or not :rotfl:

seriously, some (probably most) people don't include regular bills such as mortgage/rent and utility bills.

others (probably the minority) such as myself count any money going out of a purse or bank account to anywhere as a spend

As it is my CC that I am trying to clear I think I will take payments TO that as no spends but obviously anything else put on it will be a spend! Also anything else coming out of my bank account (well other than pension payments and insurance!) so at the moment claiming NSD #9 this may get adjusted if Dr Dragon and myself decide to wander over to the pub (at the moment we are thinking NOT though :A)

Evening all! Jinty - 10 brownie points to your OH, welcome to the new folks joining us, and Dragon - I count any non-bill spend as a spend (if that makes sense). Since the idea of me joining this challenge was to tackle my £1/£2 lunchtime spends I don't count any DD or my CC payments as spends - since these are already budgeted for.

Well, went over to see SIL and my niece and nephew this afternoon - they were super hyper as usual but we did get some lovely tomato soup and chocs - and no turkey in sight :j OH has work tomorrow (just one day) and I have a hair appt (I'm not sure anyone is believing my story that 'roots are in this season don't ya know dahhhhhrrrrrrling' :rotfl:) so tomorrow will be a spendy day for sure.

Bigmumma - I totally forgot that there will be a second rampage round the supermarkets by folks just incase anything was left on the shelves at xmas :rotfl: seriously, we still have enough food to see us through for goodness knows how long (turkey and sweetcorn chowder was made last night and I'm off to rustle up a turkey casserole in a min...that leaves...OMG all the other left overs ) no food shopping for us any time soon - well except milk and bread.

I used to do turkey salad, turkey with chips and gravy, turkey and mushroom rissoto, and the never ending turkey butties.

Funnily enough, I was only saying to someone else (by email) earlier this evening that I'd realised this afternoon that these are what's missing this Christmas (having not even cooked a full chicken for Saturday)
