It was an unexpected NSD for me on Saturday which takes me to NSD NUMBER 10 - was supposed to have night away meeting up with friends from MSE but the snow and ice intervened and our meeting was postponed. That left me in house all day in my PJ's so no way was I going to spend. Today (Sunday) has been spend though, as I went to car boot for fruit & veg, then Mr T's for a few bits and some shopping for my injured neighbour who can't get out of the house

Tomorrow (Monday)? Spend day as Mr 3Dogs wants pair of boots from Lid£ which on offer from the morning - if they have some left when we get there it will be a spend day, otherwise it may possibly be an NSD - will just have to wait and see

No snow here in our neck of the woods, but my Sister told me it started to snow in Tyneside as it got dark and was already quite deep again when we spoke on phone at 6.30 pm

  • Hi guys, hope you are all well. I can officially declare that I have achieved target and am actually at 11 NSDs as of this morning. Given that we still have Christmas Day and Boxing Day to come I'm going to increase my target to 13 but I'm really going to try for a couple of extra days as well.

I don't know about anyone else but this snow has really made me think clearly about what I want from life. I LOVE snow but have spent all this week wishing it away so I can safely drive to work. I hate having this dependence on work hanging over me. I have had to take three days off unpaid so far and I know that that means that January is going to be very tight money wise.

As soon as out debts are clear I will be making a start on the mortgage with an aim of getting to position where both I and the OH can afford to just work part time. We are fairly simple folks, we don't want fancy cars or holidays so it is very do-able we just need to get back up on our feet.

I look forward to the day when I can look out the window at the snow and smile, knowing that there is enough food and drink in the cupboards and wood cut for the fire to mean that we are snowed in and HAPPY ABOUT IT! :j

    Good morning all!

We havent had any more snow overnight, but it's pretty deep. We are debating whether to risk driving to Glasgow today or not. I'd rather leave it till the weather clears, but I'm anxious that the GC'S get their presents in time.

On the other hand, I quite fancy staying in and not going anywhere!

Not planning any spends today at all, so fingers crossed for another NSD.

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

Twistedhazel - sometimes we all get so tied up in surviving that we forget to actually live x

Well I'm off work today (booked holiday) and normally I would be tuecked up in bed still but have already spent this morning trying to get OH car to start....it seems to have a grumbly immobiliser so is a bit tempremental at times, and also scrape some ice off the car....his in car thermometer was reading -10.5 degrees  and we're only a 20min drive from Heathrow!!!!

So, after tramping about in the snow - initally forgot to put a coat on - its deff not t-shirt weather out there :rotfl: I've decided to stay up and get my bit's n bobs done earlier rather than later.

No more snow here just very very cold - though it does generally seem more snowy than icy atm.

QUICK SPOONY SEND KIPPERS!!!! deff not a NSD for me today. Popped into the office to collect the deliveries that arrived while I was away - just one item missing but hopefully that will turn up tomorrow. Then off to Pets*Home to get new scratch post...£20 and so far the cat has merely sniffed it and batted the pom pom once :doh:if she doesn't use it, it will be back to the shop for it.

Then went over to John L*wis to collect the boxes i ordered, plus get the new sheets (had vouchers towards them) but also came out with two very lovely but rather expensive Xmas garlands (£24 in total!!!) not sure whether i will keep both, but they are very sweet and will last.

Then went into Mr A - not my usual one so was a bit of a nightmare to start off with. it was busy but not as busy as i expect it will be later in the week (still plenty busy enough for me though). stocked up on a bit of a standard food shop as well as xmas nibbles - oh and 6 bottles of wine, on offer 3 for £10. Did have to go back in again to get a couple of things I couldn't possibly fit in the trolly. I won't tell you how much I spent but if we get snowed in we should be good until the summer :rotfl::rotfl: actually it prob isn't as bad as it sounds (ok, confession time £150 :o) since that includes £20 on wine, some toiletries (my usual moistureiser was rolled back to £3 each x 2), and a bottle of port (£12) for a gift. Given that I got nibbles and a regular shop its not too bad.

tucked up warm with a cuppa now. Just xmas dessert and veg left to get - and Xmas will be sorted :j
