If you'd care to come and collect it before 7pm, there's plenty here you can have..... really looks like I'm not going to my party tonight unless someone comes and clears it all by thencandyapple wrote: »Nor here, I'm gutted, I lurrrrve the snow. Declaring today as NSD #7
Given the snowfall between 6pm last night and 9am this morning (when I finally fell out of bed - must double check my alarms tonight, as I'm sure it didn't go off this morning and I have to be up for work tomorrow), I aborted all thoughts of heading into city centre as I didn't think my nerves would cope with a prolonged bus journey each way. Not sure when I'll next get a chance to get in for my specs / to take back the PJs though as the next 2 Saturdays are bank hols (and I doubt the specs place is open on 26th even if PM were and buses were running). I'm at work all my normal days, so the only chances I have this week are Wed or Thur mornings - but I'd have to be home by noon as I'm in work at 1:30 and have to eat/get changed before heading out at 1:15 (or earlier if we still have snow). Not even sure if the places I want will both be open on 2nd Jan (can only phone and ask), but would imagine buses will be pretty scarce even for a Sunday. So it really looks like 8th Jan before I'll get in - and even that's subject to weather again
So I spent 2.5 hours clearing snow off the drive in the vain hope I'd be able to use the car tonight, only to watch cars sliding down the entry road and having to be pushed up it (and it's only a gentle slope onto/up from the main road) and decide it really wasn't a safe/wise option. I did seriously debate walking to the party, but wouldn't have been able to stay until the end due to safety issues walking home - and as it was kicking off with a comedian who really didn't appeal to me it didn't seem worth the effort in the end. (Had the disco been running all night instead of after the comedian I probably would have gone for a couple of hours.)
Had also hoped to get to Mr T to do a grocery shop today (in readiness for younger DS arriving tomorrow), but that was also aborted due to needing a journey either by car or bus. That means I'll have to pick up some full-fat milk and 'processed' white bread as I leave work after my o/t tomorrow (just hope they have some in after the snow!) - so won't be getting another NSD until some point next week (not 100% sure when the next D/Debit is due out so will have to watch my bank account on a daily basis before declaring)
Anyhow, Cinderell@ is off to iron work uniforms - and then she plans to turn into Sleeping Be@uty for 9-10 hours.Cheryl0 -

Good morning everyone,
Just realised I didnt post yesterday, although I read all the posts!
Spent the day at MIL's in Glasgow, dropped some pressies off and generally caught up with the out-laws!
Not a NSD as I did a biggish shop at the butcher we always go to when we visit MIL. Freezer is well stocked, so I will be cutting the budget in Jan.
Still need a couple of bits, but will go to Lid£ for them later, providing I can get out. After a brief respite from the snow, it's back today - a blizzard ATM!
Have a lovely day everyone - stay safe and warm:)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Well it's stopped snowing here today thank goodness but still bloomin cold and very very white outside. Hope they clear the roads before tomorrow as I need to get out. Am planning an afternoon of present wrapping and then some ironing (oh, and still need to empty my case from Czech Rep
) so I will no be going out today.
Did anyone have any thoughts on whether I should count the payment of those boxes to collect in store as a Spend or NSD day? (given that I only paid for them so I would be sure to get them when I went to store - otherwise I would have bought them at the same time as my actual visit) :undecidedFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
