In an attempt to lower my debt levels, especially so near to christmas, I've locked my credit cards away this month and have vowed not to go near them.

I won't be buying christmas gifts for anyone this year, so I can use the cash towards my debt. I'm beginning to hate christmas because it's so commercialised, the big shops are ruining the holiday by making everyone materialistic, especially kids who want bigger and more expensive things. My cousin, who is 11, wants a laptop, concert tickets, 3D TV, a Sky subscription in her bedroom and a tanning bed(!) to name a very few things.. all I wanted when I was her age was a board game!

The few weeks break from uni is great but I think it's just a pointless holiday, a money maker for the businesses.

    Hi Cheryl,
Good to see you back, missed you. Hope you're OK?
    I'm fine thanks :)

Just a shade tired - and initially I wasn't sleeping well. But I've found a cure for my insomnia..... watching C0lumbo DVDs rolleyes2.gif

I'm now 8 episodes into the collection, with another 61 to go (plus 2 episodes from a spin off show), so shouldn't have any trouble sleeping for the next month or two :rotfl: I distinctly recall being ready to nod off after watching him on TV, but always assumed that was due to the time of day they were on...... however it appears not ;) Didn't realise there were so many episodes I'd not seen before though (of the 8 I've watched I definitely remember 3 and have a vague recollection of 1 more, but that still means 4 were a first time viewing for me)

I've had 2 very early (for me) nights this week -- almost unheard of for me to be in bed before 10pm, and before 9:30pm is ridiculous :o And when I then stay up until my 'normal' time (as I did last night) I can't get up with the alarm - went back to sleep for 2 hours this morning, which the mutt wasn't happy about when I came downstairs as he wanted his breakfast now !!!

Just been catching up on masses and masses of posts since my last report a week ago - my, what a lot of NSD's coming in - at least the snow was good for something eh? But lots of problems for people too - Moneypenny, it must be so awful for you but you gotta stay strong for your DD's sake, hope she sees the light - and isn't it wonderful how we can all share our experiences on here, it really does help when someone has been through it all too, be it the debt problems or personal problems - way to go, MSE and especially Mistress Spoon's NSD Thread

I got back home last Saturday after 7 weeks up in Tyneside - it is lovely being back home but hard not being up there for Mam and my family - however, Mam is doing as well as can be expected, and is eating more and even drinking a little more too, without choking, which is great :j I will be back up there on 8th January for a week and 10th February for a week too - I've booked the train tickets on an offer of £8 single fare, so it isn't too much of a loss if things change and I have to change my plans

Anyway, back to business, and reporting NSD NUMBERS 8 & 9 for Tuesday and Wednesday, so still hope to make target for December

Four horrendously, long, hectic days at work = 4 fabulous NSDs bringing my total to 7 now!

Four desperately-needed days off now = 4 days where a lot of spending will be taking place :(

    Hi lovely NSD gang:A

We haven't had a Friday wiggle for a couple of weeks, so I think it's time we had one today (courtesy of Tixy) :D. Hope it makes you smile:D
