    Finally declaring NSD #5 :T

Guess I'm in line for the wet kipper award, 'cos I've just had 8 spend days in a row
(and I bought groceries on each and every last one of them!!)

Hoping to keep tomorrow as an NSD as well, but Saturday won't be. Had a text yesterday to let me know that the glasses I ordered on Sunday (for which they had to order the lenses in specially, and that meant a 2 week delay) are ready for me...... so bus fare back into the city centre is needed, and I shall take the opportunity to take the PJs back to PM and check out the kids range while I'm there. Saturday is also the Christmas party for the running club, but the spends at that (soft drinks only) wouldn't have been declarable as it's either 'social life' or 'get fit' budget spending (not sure which, but neither is included in this challenge)

  • Thanks for the support everyone, that's why i love this challenge so much, i get much more than just NSD's out of it!!!

Well the spendy run started today with the work xmas lunch, but wasn't as bad as i feared, & the food was really nice!! Feeling very chuffed with myself that i walked the 3 miles home afterwards instead of waiting for a lift, so that should be a fair few of the calories gone :j

Cuppa & (slightly stale) chocolate muffin & bed now, hope all you're all keeping warm & safe in the snow, am not mentioning that our's hasn't settled as i don't want to tempt fate!!

Hi lovely NSD gang, I very nearly disappeared into lurkdom for a bit there!! Been keeping an eye on you all via my phone but my old brick is not modern enough to let me post from there. Feeling a bit shellshocked from 2 weeks of horrendous snow and freezing weather, no fun when you work outside I tell you! Today was the first day I've seen the grass in our garden in ages, and we're forecast a load more snow on Saturday. The day I had to dig my way into the stables at work in a blizzard and muck out 7 horses singlehandedly because everyone else was snowed in at home will stick in my head forever!! Perhaps if I moved house onto a hill or a valley I could use the snowed-in excuse like everyone else :)

All this weather has somehow wreaked havoc on my NSDs, and I'm up to 7 now, was hoping to be further ahead at this point in the month. Still, we have Christmas all planned and budgeted for, without any huge spends on the credit cards, so I'm feeling a bit smug. Looking forwards to spending my Co-op dividend on lots of goodies to eat and drink next week as well.

Hope everyone is faring well, and looking forward to the festivites ahead. Its my work party tomorrow night which I love - my boss (usually an ogre!) books out a very nice local pub/restaurant for us all, we have the place to ourselves for a private party and he pays for the lot! Mmmm, 3 lovely courses of food and free flowing wine! If I can get DH to pay for the taxi then its a NSD for me hopefully :)
Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon ....

Oh, now, I was distracted by a PM... so I do hope this is the NSD thread or I'm going to look pretty daft! ;)

Thank you for allowing me number 8 :D. You gotta love that Christmas spirit! (Which admittedly is just normally called generosity and which you all always have on this thread :))

I was so smug in my ability to get number 9 today, even though I was shopping for pressies on behalf of Dad (so all money will be re-imbursed).

But then I was blindsided by the assistant when paying for pressies, who asked my if I knew about the cardigan deal... I did know (I'm a good MSE girl ;)) but assumed it was long gone as it must have been after 7pm by then... however they happened to have some left in my size.

So I'm now proudly wearing my cardi :D. But I've lost my NSD. Note to self: do not be a smug bug!

Chris I reckon you'll be able to give Baby Peaches a run for her money soon, and go for an entire month of NSDs (Mind you, if Baby Peaches is running already, you'll need a month of NSDs and way more to beat her achievement :rotfl:.)
