  • Good afternoon all x

Spoony got my 13th NSD yesterday thank you :A

Hope this makes you all laugh!!

Thanks for making me smile IF... much needed.

Got stuck in the snow yesterday, took me 2 hours to travel from Canary Wharf to home (near Woolwich Ferry) That's normally about a 10 min drive.:mad::mad: I was shaking when I got in. AND I'd not been able to get to the market for fresh veg and meat.

Anyhow, went out and finished my shopping which was meant to be done yesterday so I'm going to count today as a nsd. Only bought what was on my list. I think that makes 4 or 5 out of 10. Not going to be going out so much this week. Need to relax and start of the pile of jobs that I have waiting for my attention.

Only got the turkey and the broccoli left to buy. :D

    Have a good one all.:wave::wave:

I can add another 2 nsds to my total, which will make 11 I think :undecided I'll check my siggy in a bit..
I've been under house arrest since Thursday evening  Me muvva had a check up with the quack & we happened to mention she was having trouble hearing. Upshot is two totally blocked ears & Nursie Mumma on duty to put olive oil in said orifices twice a day! As she is of a nervous disposition at the best of times, I'm staying over with her until she can hear at least a little. I've only come home now for clean clothes, see The Offspring & a swift five minutes to myself :o

The snow we've had is very frozen today & becoming lethal as the night draws in :( so all you guys take care OK? Hope to be back before too long x

Spend day for me as planned (following the shopping trip being aborted yesterday)

As I left work I paid for some bread which I'd been naughty and squirrelled away in the bakery when I arrived - the bakery manager warned me that the 'plant bread' (processed pre-packed stuff) that was on the shelves was all we had, but only mentioned it as I said on arrival I needed to remember to get some on my way home. Also picked up a few whoopsies on my way out (a couple of tubs of lemon and dill sauce to use with fish, a piece of trout, 2 packs of haddock fishcakes with 2 to a pack, and 2 packs of organic sliced turkey).

Got half way home and realised I'd forgotten to pick up the milk, which I knew my milk monster wouldn't be happy about when he arrived :o So I came home, unloaded the shopping, had a cuppa, then headed back down to the store. Picked up milk and then checked the bakery whoopsies - coming home with 2 packs of almond croissants (for me), a pack of pain au chocolat (for him) and a bag of 5 croissaints (which we'll probably share) at 19p a pack.

Then got a text from DS..... the Preston to Bolton bus was teminating early (and they weren't told until they left Chorley!), so could I please pick him up from Horwich. Meant I had to clear the car of several inches of snow before I could attempt to get into it (one door wouldn't open even then!) and try to start her up.... and on first attempt all my electrics died so I kept fingers crossed as I tried again. Luckily she fired up then, but I must find the charger for my jump start box in case this weather continues :o The first lot of roads were OK, but once I crossed a council border it became apparent the other council are skimping on their gritting - and once I got to the retail park DS had walked to (in an attempt to keep warm while making it easier for me to find him) I was back on nasty roads that have been partially ploughed but not gritted at all..... and I'd also had to contend with fog for the 1 junction stretch of the m/way

Got home unscathed (but shattered, don't think it'll be long before I head to bed), and almost the first thing DS did (after saying hello to the mutt and then dumping his bag in his bedroom) was open the fridge with a 'did you get milk?' - followed by a rather startled 'oh! you did!' when he saw a 4pt of full fat milk in there :D I then gave him the pain au chocolat and he promptly shot up the stairs to his room with a gleeful 'cake!!!', so I'm rather pleased I gave into the temptation to treat him :)

He was also rather impressed to find a TV in his room. I got a new one for the living room recently, but still have the old chunky one. So I've put the old one back into place for me (and will suffer the poor picture quality for another week), and taken the 19" flat screen (with built in f/view and DVD player) upstairs for him. TV Licence is still good until the end of the month, so he's chuffed he's now going to be able to watch some Dr Wh0 special as it airs (Xmas Day I think he said?) instead of having to use his laptop to see it on catch-up later. More brownie points for me :)

    Evening all!
ARGH! just typed nice long reply - and broadband went down!:mad:

Well, I have the right 'ump now ....

Declaring NSD #8 though :j Haven't been out at all today except to put some bread out for the birds (soaked in warmed butter) which they havent' touched - ungrateful little sods... and unearther OH's car from a considerable snow drift before he triest to get to work tomorrow.

No idea what the roads round here are like atm, seems our council have been very good at gritting when it wasn't needed, then yesterday there wasn't hide nor hair of a gritter or snow plough. Need to go out to get my storage boxes, a scrach post I have reserved at Pets*Home for the kitty (which will prob be £20 down the drain but trying to encourage her not to keep using the bannister) and need to pop to Mr A to get xmas nibbles and drinkies. Hoping that our pre-ordered Xmas dinner still gets delivered as scheduled, else it will be wine and nuts for xmas dinner :rotfl::rotfl:

Finished wrapping all the gifts to date here tonight - next year i am going to employ some child labour to do it for me ...far less stressful :rotfl: need to pop into the office tomorrow to collect a couple of deliveries which will mean more wrapping

Well done on the brownie points Cheryl (looking forward to Doctor Who myself - esp now Merlin has finished) and glad you like your new outfit Jinty - us gals need a treat every now and again xx
