Hope you've got some good recipes for those kippers, Kerri! :rotfl:You were close but no cigar.......:rotfl:
Reporting #6 today, work was a nightmare today but thankfully that's it till next week. Still very cold here, minus 3 ATM!
Fed up with the conditions and complete lack of action on the part of the council to do anything about it! Looking out of my window its like Siberia:mad:
I might brave it tomorrow and go into town for a wee while, I need wrapping paper etc so a trip to £land may be in the offing.
Anyhoo, I'm heading off to bed early to watch Sir Alan ( sorry Lord Sugar) . Off to get my HWB filled and my jammies on.
OH what a glamorous life I lead, sighs and flounces out of the room
Nite nite, NSDers:)

Biiiiig spend day for me today..... don't think I've spent so much at work in a week before, let alone one day
As I left work I picked up the B1G2F fish fingers deal (love fish finger butties for lunch, so that's 15 snack meals for less than £4 plus the cost of bread and ketchup - or 20 meals if I use rolls instead of sliced bread which I probably will) and a load of chilled Whoopsies (a small quiche for tomorrows lunch, 2x2pt organic skimmed milk which has been decanted into old but cleaned 1pt containers and put in the freezer, a pack of peppered beef style Qu0rn for butties on Fri/Sat, and a mozzarella ball that'll be used on h/made pizza this weekend). Total came to exactly £5 (before discount which goes into my sealed jar).
But as it's extra discount day (and there were cakes I wanted to try going into reductions) I went back down just over an hour after getting home - and the total this time was just short of £58 before discount
However it's not too bad once I knock off.....
new electric toothbrush and pack of 4 replacement heads (£25.64 in total) as mine is on it's last legs and the heads are becoming almost impossible to find anymore
edible Christmas pressies (R0ses on B1G2F, shortbread fingers on B1G2F, 0reo cookies on 2 for £1.50) at a total of £7.48 for 8 pressies
which leaves £32.33 on groceries, which netted me a lot of stuff (most of which won't be touched until next year)
pack of lasagne sheets (one thing that was missing during my cupboard inventory)
2 packs of burger mix (meat free variety and to be used for lunches - the two packs make a total of 16 burgers, so 16 snack meals) on a 2 for £2 offer
4 packs of meringue nests (probably use one over Christmas) on a 2 for £1.50 offer
3 tins of sweetcorn (39p each, 3 for £1)
4 tins of sliced carrots (28p each, 4 for £1)
2 tins each of green beans, peas & carrots, mixed veg (70p each, 3 for £1)
4 tins of condensed milk for my baking cupboard (used some earlier this year to make some yummy florentines, so may use one before Christmas) on a 2 for £2 offer
2 multipacks of S&V chip-stick type snacks (Mr M's own label) on a 2 for £1.50 offer
1 box eggs
1 cucumber
1 iceberg lettuce
2 large tubs of double Elme@ cream, on offer at £1.24 each (and dated next Feb)
then from Whoopsies I got
2 packs of asparagus at 25p each
1 huge bag of radishes at 25p
1 pack of spring onions at 25p (actually contains 2 bunches which are over 70p each)
2 packs of 6 mini muffins (1 lemon & poppy seed, 1 toffee) at 19p each
1 pack of 2 individual apple lattice pies at 49p
1 pack 2 pain au chocolat at 19p
1 pack 2 pain au raisin at 19p
2 packs NY Bagels (cinammon and raisin) at 19p each
1 pack 'on the vine' cherry tomatoes at 55p
1 of the cakes I wanted (a chocolate and mandarin bar that's supposed to be £5) for £1.25
I'm now planning on being at A!di before opening tomorrow to spend some of my sealed pot money. This fund has been made up from my loose change from all shopping (when I've had discount it's change before discount), all my staff discount, the value of any vouchers I've used, and my C0-0p dividends. This means it's all been accounted for from budgets (or is 'free money' in respect of the dividends) so won't count as a spend anywayAt the end of October this amounted to a total of £312.87, but I've still not completed my November accounts (!) nor kept Decembers up-to-date so it'll be more than that (not least because of the £6 voucher I used in Mr T a couple of weeks ago, and the £15 of club card vouchers I've redeemed against a Christmas present for DD - giving her £60 of day out vouchers).
So, as my TV is losing picture quality (and even though I only plan to use it to watch DVDs and videos from 1st Jan when I'll no longer have a TV licence) I'm hoping to get one of the sets they have on offer from tomorrow - £120 for a 19" LCD with built in DVD player (and a scart socket for my VCR). I was debating the 22" version that Nett0 have on offer tomorrow for £140, but it's £20 more and only comes with a 1 year guarantee (3 years from A!di) so having pondered for the last 48 hours I've decided the smaller set is probably ample for me(My current - almost 9 year old - set is a 21" 'rounded screen' one)
And having seen how small the new iP0d shufle is (lovely and dinky - 3cm square) I'm about to pop over to Am@z0n to order myself one with some of what's left of my sealed pot money after allowing for the TV. I already have an iP0d classic, but am aware that cost me a lot of money if it gets damaged while out running (and is quite bulky to carry, even though it fits in the back pocket of most of my running trousers). The Shuffle will hold enough music for my all my current runs - and should for even up to and including half marathon distances, which is my training target for the race next June. The Shuffle is also a better priced gadget to be putting into my locker at work, which means my Classic can just be used on my docks at home or in the car.
(Also debating have a browse for some DVD sets I've been hankering after, and seeing what the prices are like on them these days being as I'd still have a significant chunk of my sealed pot money left to treat myself with)Cheryl0 -
CW - You're sooooooo organised. I feel tired just reading your post. It's like an army manoeuvre0

Finally worked out who you work for cw.
I thought it was Mr A!
I reckon I'd do a lot more of my food shopping at work if I did (prices on what I buy tend to be lower there), but it's not within walking distance so would mean a chunk of my salary being swallowed up in petrol costs (and no chance to make it home in lunch breaks to deal with the dog)
I'm guessing some of the offers gave it away
Edit: just seen I mentioned who against the crisps.....Cheryl0 -

And I though the same Beanie :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Planned spend day for me with paying for my heating oil which is to be delivered tomorrow afternoon - winter fuel allowance which Mr 3Dogs qualified for this year for the first time is all gone now, plus some. When we got the letter saying WFA was on it's way, I checked out the price of 500 litres of oil and was told £262 with delivery in 2 days, but I couldn't order it then in case the money did not come through in time to pay on delivery. Two days later, WFA was in the bank, so I could have had it but when I then rang to order it was quoted as £289 with 10-14 days on delivery, due to the weather and Chritmas increase in orders   MUST make sure we top up during next summer when oil is at it's cheapest so we don't have to depend on the WFA to come to order and have to pay extra
I'm going shopping for bits & bobs tomorrow morning, including family Christmas cards for up here so I save on postage by giving them straight to family, so not expecting next NSD till FridayMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

I'll go and fish them out of the bin kerri, I put them in there earlier as I couldn't stand the smell any longer:D. In the post to you tomorrow (if I can find something to contain them as they are definitely a bit slippery now:eek:), although I don't think you'll be needing a recipe for them:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

But even my Mum agreed that (given the abscence of a decent interest rate on bank accounts) stocking up on items that will be hit with the VAT increase is currently a good move
Probably right there, Cheryl, I hadn't thought of it like that:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
