Morning all
will be a spend day todaybutdoineedit? wrote: »Aargh what a week!!!! Been so :mad: that i couldn't even bring myself to post..... the reason for this??? My stepdad (well not legally as he never actually married my mum, but in every other way), has just come back off holiday & announced he has married a teenager in Africa!!!!!!:eek: (yeah, i know it sounds like a plotline from a bad soap)
So have spent most of the week trying to support my mum, who is draining at the best of times & just feel exhausted with it all, oh, & fixing the heating which stopped working, but luckily that was just frozen pipes which seem to be ok now i have lagged them
Have so far managed 2 for December, am quite pleased with that really & the only comfort spend i had was a bottle of wine, so different from the days when i would have bought myself a ton of clothes & stuff to deal with the stress!!
Gosh BDINI..... I dont even know what to say..... how terrible for your mum.Hi guys
Sorry I don't have time to read all your posts. I had 1 NSD on Friday and 1 today, so 2 so far.
I crashed the car tonight. Taking off from green lights, police sirens went off, looked to see what direction they were coming from and didn't see the car in front had stopped, slipped on the ice...
We were all ok (me in my car, a couple in the one in front), if a bit shaken. I am very glad I was only taking of and not going at all fast, or I dread to think. It was just a young lad driving his mum's car too, he didn't know what to do and I feel terrible. They were very nice about it really. But still
Feeling a bit rubbish and a little bruised. Big hugs to all who need them. (Especially BDINI - I've read the posts on this page. It does put things into perspective, as my mum said to me, it's only a car, every-one was ok and there are worse things. Thinking of you and you mum xx)
Ah Nicca.... this weather is a nightmare....... don';t feel rubbish it happens - it is just an accident.. cars can be fixed as you and the young lad were ok just a bit shaken... it is so easy in this blooming ice and snow... i nearly slid myself todayBeanie - I cant believe that we've got more snow!! It's pouring here ATM
OH managed to get away ok this morning, his flight was at 7am, so the flight left before the snow started, thank goodness!
Glad he got away Jinty.
No snow in London today just very icy and very foggy
Have a good day everyone and stay safe in this weather

Poor you, really shakes you up doesn't it. Glad you're all ok and hope the damage to both car and wallet are minimal.0 -
Spendy day for me (de-icer, pre-icer, plus hot food at lunchtime). Probably should get some diesel as well (if I can find a garage with some left!)A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Hi all,
sorry i haven't read through the thread yet.
bdnini your poor mum, what a prat he is doing that to your mother:mad:
nicca hope your okay after the crash.
Well today would have been a NSD day but the mechanics bill has came through a whopping £130 estimate.:(.
All the snow has turned into solid ice. Nearly slipped many times walking to the school and back again. Not good. It was -13c this morning when OH went to work.
So going to go for a NSD tomorrow.0 -
Hi guys
Thank you for all your kind words. Feel much better about it today.
It's been snowing in Glasgow all day and the city is gridlocked. It's chaos! I abandoned the car at work (insurance folks wanted to know if I could take it to the garage! :rotfl: Never thought to ask where they were in the country but no-one is going anywhere here today!) and walked home.
It was quite nice really, chatted to lots of random strangers as we stopped to help every other car who's wheels were just spinning in the snow.
Not looking forward to trying to make it in to work tomorrow though!
Oh... forgot I'd come on to declare number 3 for today! Right, I think I'll just put the fire on with reckless abandon and cozy up...

Hi Everyone!
I've only just discovered this thread - amazing considering how often I'm on the forum. I'm not going to set myself a target this month as I've just moved and have lots that I need to buy but I will be keenly watching and I will try to build up as many days as I can starting from tomorrow (I bought a sandwich for £1.35 today as I couldn't be bothered making one this morning )0
