  • Thanks for replying, backfoot.

I might contact EDF just to confirm that my application went through ok.

might be worth checking your spam folder just in case it went straight in there.
  • I am tied to Scottish Power until 30th November as per this;

Your current Online Energy Saver 7 Offer is due to end on 30th November 2010.
The current cancellation charges are £30 for electricity and £20 for gas.

Could I apply to EDF today - 30th Nov to get the £100 introductory offer + £80 Quidco then by the time it reaches Scottish Power be in the clear for cancellation?
If it takes a man a week to walk to walk a fortnight how long does it take a fly with tackity boots on to walk through a barrel of treacle?

I wanted to apply to transfer today but I'm a bit worried that I will be charged by Sp for an exit fee. My tariff ends with them today. I need the bonus and cashback to make it worthwhile.
    Hmm.

    Hmm.

Must admit I was in the same situation.
I could be wrong but you'll still be with SP for a month or two yet, so in my mind you haven't switched as such yet & therefore they surely can't charge for it. I'm sure they would be on dodgy ground with the regulators if they did charge £50 for 1 day!!

Glad everyone else's has tracked. Mine with Quidco isn't showing as tracked but the purchase BEFORE and AFTER the EDF one is showing as tracked.

    Typical.

I know exactly how Quidco works and so am very adept at clearing all cookies and history so there is nothing to stop anything tracking.

I got an email confirmation from EDF straight after the transaction welcoming me as a new customer.

I suppose it is still less than a day since so hopefully it will track today. It is just typical that an £80 cashback is not showing and yet a £1 one after it is.

I think you are in a very good situation to switch today. The welcome email from EDF says it will take 4-8 weeks to actually complete the switch so in that time you are still a customer of Scottish Power. You will still be paying THEM for your energy.
  • Quite easy to switch via Quidco to EDF.

They seem to be offering a huge saving but I think I'll budget for another 110% on top of this...

Well, have switched over and ended up with lower tariff prices than I expected which was a bonus.
  • Hi,
In case this hasn't appeared before.
I switched to EDF a couple of days ago.
I entered £35 as my monthly gas costs and £35 for electricty, but when it worked out their charges it insisted on £6 for gas.
I rang them and they told me not to worry, just change the DD after the switch.
I have seen a post elsewhere about the same problem.
This might be why some annual estimates seem low.

I had the same too for gas, I'd expect it to be ten times more.
