Total agreement here, neither is better or worse than each other, they both do things better and worse than each other however it is a compromise as to which is better for you

    Both can do writing
    Both can do image editing
    Both can do video editing

    and as to

    Well

windows has a firewall built in
windows 7 is pretty stable (as far as windows goes)
    itunes works in windows
keynote might be better but it looks like the spell checker doesn’t work "softwere"
bootcamp - well just use a virtual machine in windows
only if you buy the system with those components - same as a windows box
    iphones work with windows
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

You don't have to go through it.

The thread title was fairly self-explanatory.

You just clicked on it to get yourself all internet-angry.

To be fair though this type of question gets asked fairly regularly on the forum and generally turns into a predictable battle between Mac & PC users.

OP, pop into your local Apple store if you have one. Try one out and see what you think. Then perhaps pop into a PC shop of your choice and try and equivalent machine, then make your choice.

Either will do, its your money, personally paying twice the price for the same outcome is something I could never understand. Feel free, its a perennial question that has popped up over the last several decades, each camp has its disciples / evangelists but at the end of the day one is half the price of the other .. .. your money you decide.

One option is to get a PC and then put Ubuntu on it with a Mac OS X theme and then you've got security through obscurity and not paid the Apple Tax.
