Thanks rosieben,pink-winged and MRSMC for getting us going again, really appreciate all the effort you all put into this.:D
Have updated my total with spends from yesterday, bought mainly fruit, veg, milk, dried fruit, bread flour - all the basics we seem to have run out of. Also had to buy double cream, greek yoghurt etc as I'm planning to make Delia's Xmas pudding Ice cream again, made it a few years now and it's always a hit - just have to stash it away somewhere in the Freezer where it won't be found until Xmas.:p
Got up this morning to Snow on the ground, not too much but it's been snowing again this morning, Trains disrupted so OH had to walk to get a bus and then hopefully Underground. JackieO - hope you are ok as I think you only live a few miles away from me.
Dinner tonight will be Spag bol and I will make some Garlic dough balls to go with it - will have a look around for a nice pudding recipe from the Recipe index as I think the kids need it now the weather has got so cold.
Take care everyone, especially today as they say the wind chill factor from the wind is going to be bad."WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Good morning - hope everyone is managing to keep warm.
Total spend so far £6 - probably due to the weather, as getting out for anything except work does not really appeal. I have to go to Asda tonight as I always take DD home from work on Tuesdays, so I'm hoping that their lack of customers over the last few days may mean a decent selection of whoopsies will be available.:D0 -
Morning all! thanks for the new thread.
Can you put me down for £150 in December please? Not sure how realistic this is but we'll give it a go!
I'm thinking of trying a yearly budget next year, as we bulk buy a lot of our meat from local farmers. Does anyone else do this? I'm worried I'll go over if I dont have a monthly target though xxTrying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -
Thanks for the thread MrsMc, rosieben and pink-winged.
Please could you put me down for £250 this month?
This is for two adults and two children. This is much higher than my usual monthly budget but I have been running down the freezer and now need to start stocking it up again, plus the small extra we spend on christmas food and drink.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

I've just been checking my cupboards and freezer before work, and I've just thought how the GC being monthly means not going wayyyy off track with spending - normally, losing it at the end of Nov would have made me think, well i've screwed up anyway and am down, so may as well not bother trying to keep to budget this month.
As it is, I have the beginnings of a list, know my stocks and am determined to stay in budget in December and account for every penny.
Thank you MrsMc, rosieben and pink-winged and all who contribute to the GC threads.0 -
Many thanks to the ladies who do such a splendid job running this thread.
