could you put me down for £200 for dec please

£10 more than last month but the pet food we have is on offer & need worming/flea treatment so gonna allow extra for that

do have some seperate spends for xmas weekend food so this isnt included in the GC budget though no doubt will still add so extras.
hoping I can stay under this month was over last month but mainly due to bulk buys and the "never send anyone else shopping for you" spend

quick question if you bulk buy or get offers that you know will last more than the current Gc month do you still include the total in this month or split it over the months you benefit from it? last month I brought quite a bit on offer that I know will last at least this month and maybe into jan so would only just have gone over if I hadnt brought them or counted them in the next months challenge if that makes sense
i know everyone does it differently but just wondered what the general choice was.

    goodluck everyone
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

I asked this recently after an app f00d order that will deff take me into Jan and poss even Feb. The general concencus (when I asked) was that groceries would be counted as that month but things like laundry products etc MIGHT be carried over..............

I ended up counting mine in the month which meant that I went over (even though I had bought loo roll and DW tablets) but my logic there is that it SHOULD in theory mean that I come under this month IYSWIM

I've been watching last months thread with a lot of interest and would like to join in this months please. I would like to be put down for £100 please, which is very much a guess. This is only to cover myself and my OH (who eats like a horse), but we do have a pretty full chest freezer, and we also go to visit family over Christmas, so apart from gifts there is no real extra spend there.
Thank you (from a secretly very excited newbie).

It is for this very reason that I am moving over to an annual budget for next year! I have simply multiplied my projected weekly spend by 52. Looks terrifyingly large like that:eek: but should allow a bit more flexibility

I just need to be careful that I don't use too much up at the start of the year, just because it looks like I have loads to spend. Am aiming to try and spend 1/52th per week but not worry about being a bit over or under due to bulk buys etc
  • First spend of the month, went to Mr S and spent £7.39 on olive oil, custard, plums, apples, crumpets, oats, sweetcorn, big jar of coffee for work and some basics smash, rice pud and hot dogs for my 'emergency' cupboard.

Am well & truly naffed off now, it's only 5 days into the GC & it's been blown already

I shopped really carefull at the weekend at Ald1 & L1dl (using my £5 off a £30 spend voucher) got loads of great deals incl a 1/2 leg of lamb for £5.75, but then we woke up with my DH unable to walk due to pain in his foot - long story short we went to A&E & he was told it was most prob acute Arthiritus (Sp?) not his fault, not blaming him, but as he couldn't drive we needed to get a taxi home as his mum had the car £17 :mad::mad::mad: for a 10min journey, I am not happy as that's almost 2 weeks top up shop money!

Think I need to take a few calming breaths, on the plus side I haven't paid my 0% credit card yet, so it would not be an issue to take the £17 from there & I know I won't incurr any extra interest, I just couldn't believe that taxi firms would take advantage of people in hospital & charge such an massive amount for such a short journey!

    Ok rant over :embarasse
  • ok so ive decided i will join if thats ok, aiming for £450 sounds alot i know
Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T
