A big resolution of mine is to get my grocery shopping under control in 2011, have been spending around £600 a month (and that's for me, DH, DD and assorted pets). Need to sort that out, and pronto.

However......given that its also (whisper it:o) Christmas this month, I'm really not sure what to aim for. I think it would probably be sensible to go for £400, which would be an improvement on what I usually spend, but enough to allow for the celebrations, and then next year I'll perhaps begin to have a better idea of what to aim for :D

    Thanks
    Jo
Debts at their highest: £37,500
Hope to be debt free sometime in 2013 :D
Me, DH, our DD, 1 cat, 3 Gerbils, lots of fish, and 1 allotment :D
  • Think I will go back to £300 for this month as I didn't make £275 in November, and Christmas and Hogmanay coming up. Realise I should have budgeted separately for booze but got my Co-op divi this week so will use that - it's only about half of what I got last year though - don't know whether this is down to the recession or whether I just spent less this year - had been trying to cut down even before I started the GC. So please would you put me down for £300. Thanks

    Afternoon all,

Put me down for €190 again for December please, very little need for extras as I seem to have got them in already....feeling so chuffed....will probably completely go over the top, but that's life!

  • Hello all,

I disappeared from the Nov thread towards the end as it went a little pear-shaped :o but I think I set my target just a bit too low, so not being too hard on myself
So I get paid tomorrow, grocery cash will be withdrawn and that is that for December - no 'little' card spends!

As my Dec budget will no doubt include some ahem, extra beverages :D as well as a modest Christmas roast, could I please be put down for £140 in December, with the intention of underspending so I can have a green figure in my sig! :rotfl:
  • I'm in again this month, and a bit lost. Please put me down for £250 this month, I kind of lost track for November but will try and get it totalled and post my total there later.

Thanks again ladies for the hard work you've put in this year keeping the thread in check.

    Afternoon

Many thanks to Pink, Mrs M and Rosieben for running the thread. I didn't post as much as I should have last month but I would really miss it if it wasn't here!

Could you put me down for £450 for December please. I will take off my £78.67 overspend, have two very lean weeks and then try not to buy too much carp for Christmas as I am a stone heavier than I was last year :( and don't want to make it any worse, for me or anyone else! It would be very satisfying to come in under target in Dec of all months and my dear mum is buying the turkey so I'll give it a go!

Good luck everybody for December :)
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

Our budget this month is going to be £120. This budget is for 2 adults and 2 chinchillas and our month goes from the 1st of December to the 31st of December. This will include a bit of alcohol for Yule and other little treats. £100 of that is on a Mr S gift card and £20 will be cash. I can't believe the year is almost over!
