I really enjoyed my day of being snowed inyesterday. DD and I have decided not to go to Leeds today,so I'm hoping her tutor will be able to look at her UCAS personal statement online, and maybe call her with some feedback
She's written it very well, and has developed a beautiful turn of phrase, so she's happy with is, but would like the approval of a professional.
Going to try and finish my lists today :j as we're planning a trip to York tomorrow. I've started knitting this tea cosy, so will look at my stash of end of wool and decide on some flowers later :j
Off out to Triker and pigpen land this evening for DH's work meal - he can drive
Stay warm :A:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Seconded.Morning all,
There is some little angels here i see..
:ATriker:A - rescuing randoms in the snow and helping your Dad like that
:ADippy:A - shopping for practically a whole street
It is so very heartwarming to read about your actions, it really does give me a warm feeling that such kind people still exist in society.
Greenbee - Your in my thoughts hun, I hope your OH gets back as soon as he is able to and in one piece. I would be so frustrated in the same situation and tbh I think with all things considered your dealing with it well. I hope the tests give you the answer which is right for you both at this time, I am sure whatever happens it will be just fine.
Hugs, Love, Spoons and Hot drinks

Morning all
Greenbee - I hope things turn out exactly how you want them to love xxx
I have a snow day today. We were kicked out of work at 3pm yesterday before it started to freeze. DS came over and we took BB out to the park to play in the snow. We didn't stay out long though because she started shivering quite badly. Chickens didn't quite know what to make of the snow for a while but seem to have accepted it now.
An urgent proof reading job fell my way yesterday which is a nice unexpected cash injection so a lot of last night was spent on that. I'm glad about the snow day because it means I can finish it today. Just off to the corner shop to get a newspaper for NN (she's really nervous about slipping over on the ice so is staying put indoors today!), will then do breakfast and get proof reading...
Stay safe and warm peopleI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning all
The - hopefully - last snow day for both DSs and me. One college building is open for students to work, but no classes running, and that's no good to DS1. I wonder whether my boss has made a mistake, as most secondaries seem to be opening late today. Not that I'm unhappy to be off on my birthday, but classes in two years are working towards assessments at the moment and we will struggle to get everything done before our Germany trip a week on Wednesday.
Second cuppa and breakfast now, then DW/WM/TD. Not sure what to tackle first after that - DR table or DS2's toys. I think it will have to be the table, so we can start to eat in there again. Toys next -will be a WIP. I've got to concentrate on work work this weekend, so today will be the last full decluttering day, but we're going to see friends down the road at some point and I've got a doctor's appt.
Hope everyone's safe and warm. x0 -
Happy Birthday Mrs Chaos - I had just picked that up from Facebook, it does have its uses!
Our school is open but I have made the decision NOT to take the boys, it is not safe to drive, and the walk has a severe impact on me even before we all fall over. Limits my activities today, so I need to think of some nice crafty stuff for them to do as they are getting a bit bored now.
I need to get dressed and get on. I am going to pick a room and deep clean it in stages again like yesterday.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Happy Birthday to Mrs C

Dusty thats great news that your be able to get the wheel.
Shysarah thats a lovely picture.
Soappie glad to hear abit of extra money is coming your way, i hope a few more come your way.
We have snow which has been coming down slowly through the night. The sky is very dark and i've been told it will snow most of the day. Problem is it's not heavy and i could probably get the kiddies to school but if it carried on they would have to go home early anyway so i think best thing is snowday.
:D:D:D
Kids already have made up their mind and have there snow suits pulled out and ready to go.:rotfl:Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
