Started the HHC a bit late (10.40), but kept going until just before 12. WM and TD on, stairs cleared and hoovered, a small area of floor in DR of Doom cleared and mopped. The great furniture re-shuffle is about to begin. Not looking forward to dragging my computer desk back downstairs - it weighs a ton. Got to be done, though.

Thanks to everyone for the motivation on here - think I've got my mojo back. Best get on.

DD is still off sick. She hardly slept again last night due to coughing & actually wanted to have a lie-in which is unheard of She's currently curled up on the sofa watching Wallace & Gromit from last night & doing cross stitch to keep her busy so she doesn't get bored. She's wrapped up and wearing a woolly hat so looks a right picture :rotfl:

I'm going to try and get the end of the gloss paint finished today in DD's bedroom & hall. Should really get started on the gloss in my room as well. Might do the bathroom as well as there's hardly anything in there to gloss

Thursday
- [STRIKE]Paperwork for dentist appointment tomorrow[/STRIKE] Appointment cancelled, rebooked for 10th.
- [STRIKE]knitting of hat & scarf[/STRIKE] Hat turned out too small so has been unravelled for another attempt & DD dropped so many stitches on the scarf I've unravelled that as well!

Decorating To-do: (Italics are not urgent, but need to be done once the rest is done, preferably before the new carpets go in!)

Paint my bedroom walls again (painting magnolia over blue!)

Sugar soap all the gloss work (sanding where necessary) - hall done, most of DD's room as well.

Check smoke alarms - Put the one on the landing back up after painting the ceiling (downstairs one is already back up)

1. Wipe ALL light switches and plug sockets
2. Wipe window sills and catches.. check they are locked!
3. Wipe remotes .. they cannot be any cleaner than our germ riddled keyboard!

Wednesday ~ Bedroom, Landing..
Level one
Strip bedding and replace with clean
Level two
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on the landing
Dust and deweb.. don't forget to do the lightshade
Polish windows and mirrors and any other glass/mirror
Level Three
Have you written christmas cards yet??? Go finish them off!
Extras

1. Catch up on emails/calls etc
2. Dust behind radiators.. sock on a stick!
3. Pile up the hotspots, or at least some of them and deal with it all
4. Check you have wrapping paper, sellotape etc.. and other wrapping requirements.. and don't forget ADVENT CALENDARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my earlier HHC i managed to polish the whole upstairs, clean all mirrors and windows. Make all the beds, tidy DS and DD2 room and put ironing away. I then did another HHC in which i wrapped some of the presents i bought yesterday while on the phone! Got to go and take DD1 phone to her as shes staying at a friends for the weekend as they have no school tomorrow. So annoying!! Then will come back and try and finish these lists off. xxx

Afternoon all

I've done all the bedrooms today and looking through the lists I think that makes me done for the week.

I forced myself to sit and write Christmas cards this morning which I really haven't felt like bothering with, but they're done now. I've parcelled up my sister's stuff to post and I'll send that next week and buy stamps to send the few cards that go in the post and get rid of them at the same time.

I've wrapped presents as I've gone along but I still need to put them into the bags I bought. I'll do that next week too, DH and I have a couple of days off work then so I'll make him help. He doesn't do anything else.

Not finished catching up yet and I've got to start cooking in a minute, but I hope everyone's OK and keeping safe and warm.

Well toad in the hole was an absolute disaster! Flat and burnt.:o
Christmas tree is up, DH has now dissapeared off somewhere leaving me to clear up all the boxes etc and vac the floor (again):mad:
Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

going to do a little potter in the kitchen whilst waiting for lunch to be ready. also need to cook a proper meal tonight so going to be aiming for either quick and easy cheesey pasta or potato bake.

More snow...and fascinating to watch the icicles outside my bedroom window growing 3 inches per day.

Quiche and wedges tonight - soooo glad I bought a big sack of spuds a fortnight ago. My herbs seem to be quite happy under their snow blankets as well - much to the amusement of one of the neighbours scraping off his car (to find it was stuck fast), when I started digging sprigs of rosemary and lemon thyme out. What is amusing about it?

DD still off school - the head has set homework for each year in at least 7 subjects. The joys of the internet - but as I pointed out to DD, that's how I do a lot of my degree stuff, after all.

She's already cooked muffins, now she's doing the history homework.

Plus have stabbed cat in head in three places with a sterile pin - she has permanently refilling cysts that the vet won't operate on, but they cause her a lot of discomfort if they are allowed to get bigger, as they just spread further and further until a new capsule ruptures under her skin. She doesn't seem to mind the stabbing, but objects to me squeezing to keep the stuff going and everyone else just finds the jets of fluid hilarious.

My life is neverending thrills and excitement [sigh].
