NDN and bloke across road been to tell me they are hiking to Morrisons so I asked for 1 carton of UHT milk...could have given them a list but they're carrying although I did ask them to pop to the lady over the road who I know will be housebound now - she uses a scooter. Chances are her family will have checked but they now cannot get here. I was going to go over myself to check - may be some other neighbours will have too but better lots of us than all assuming someone else will have done it.
I now know who owns the car that's outside mine.
It is well over knee deep on the back. This, I assume, is what people in the Highlands must get regulaarly...
Plan is to get kids and dig around the house today - apart from anything else my tumble drier is currently inaccessible because it's in the shed!
By some stoke of foresight I left the yard brush and the shovel by the back door yesterday - I think I would have had a devil of a job getting the shovel out of the car!

    Morning Flying Folks,

Grim here still and its snowing for a change. In fact I am sat in the living room mumbling at the snow and the cursing the odd idiot driver who is zooming past. Really!!
Our road is pure ice with a layer of snow on the top some people eh. My dad has made a resolution this year that he will not be pulling any cars out with his tractors after some ignorant people having a whinge at him last year when he tried to help them.
I am also sulking still about not being able to get to my support group but then when I heard it took someone over seven hours to do half of the journey i had planned maybe staying at home was not a bad idea.
Oh well, my sister is in bits today as she is seriously snowed in and her hubby is travelling to York for an employment tribunal fortunately he has someone taking him in a 4 x 4 but she is a bit of a worrier to say the least. If he doesn't go though he automatically forfeits the case and after all the work they have put into it they cannot afford to do that.

Jo-jo I am in shock at the disgusting behaviour of your DDs school. Really I would be demanding answers straight away this should never have been allowed to happen.
Piggers - Have fun with the tree and chrimbo dec's. Pop a chrimbo CD on so that way when your OH comes home he is assaulted by the seasonal mood from all senses.
    Mazz - Big congrats xx

  • Hello choogirl :wave:Here's a tree :xmastree:

sock I second the recommendation for bbc.co.uk/bitesize and you want KS3. Good games. Also you can get books in Smiths and places similar, we get DD1 to do 15 minutes a day, since her teacher thinks you can't get better at maths with practise, you either get it or you don't  the pillock!

Off sick again, but still would like some actual organised snow instead of the pathetic showing we've had so far.

Flyingwise I have accepted that a king size duvet WILL NOT go in my washing machine...

Come and visit? :D Sorry to hear you're not well, though.

We are all at home today. Schools closed and no trains/busses, so DH couldn't get to work. Anway, can't imagine that many people would turn up for a haircut in this. I'm not happy, though, because he went back to bed a while ago, despite forever complaining about the state of the house. I'm juggling school work, DS2 and housework.
Will try to turf DS1 out of his pit in a minute, so he can clear some snow outside the front door. If he's as helpful as his Dad I can see me doing it by myself in the end. Rant over - sorry, everyone.

    Stay safe and warm, everyone.

    Morning all.

Unexpected day off today as DD looks like a zombie Rudolph with a cough that sounds like she smokes 60 a day. She's hardly slept all night and is blending in with my magnolia walls :( She's okay in herself except for being dozy although she has been through a box of tissues already! She's on hot meals & hot drinks in a thermos cup, with my last box of tissues (roll on being able to do my big @sda delivery!) thank goodness I have plenty of bog roll :rotfl:

So I'm just having another coffee before making a start on the painting. Think I'll get the gloss in DD's room done first as thats the room which needs the least things moving and will be used the least today ;)
