Good morning!
Hope everyone is ok, only a slight dusting of snow here. Its been bitterly cold here though.
I got a bit of a dilemma and wonder if you lovely people would give me some advice about it.
The father of my DD is an alcoholic and as you can guess not very reliable (I think he isn't drinking at the moment). He has last seen DD on the 16th October. I then went to Germany on holiday and when I returned he sent me an email to say that he has failed his medical and his Incapacity Benefit has been stopped and that he can't see DD as he has no money now. So I said fine, let me know when you are getting it again and we will arrange for you to see her. Well he sent me an email a couple of weeks ago saying that he is missing her and really wants to see her, so could I please bring her down as he still hasn't got any money. This would be a 40 mile round trip for me which I quite frankly can't afford.
Well here is the thing. His girlfriend lives 10 miles away and i know he spends a lot of time there. So I emailed him back and asked if she could not drop him off and pick him back up one day and that I really don't have the money for the petrol. He hasn't got back to me.
Now, I usually don't care about him seeing DD or not, I think she would be better off if he dissappeared completely out of his life but realise that's unlikely to happen. But the last few days she has been asking about him, asking why he is not seeing her and crying saying that she is missing him. When she asks why he isn't seeing her I tell her he has no money so am not lying about it. So what would you do? Would you go out of your way to let her see him or would you just try to soothe her as much as possible and wait for him to make contact. He has our phone number but in the whole time that he has not seen her he hasn't even rung her once (because he says he doesn't have any money). I feel really sad for DD when she cries about her father and really don't know what to do. Has any of you ever been in that situation? What did you do? DD is 4 by the way.
Sorry about all that!
Polly So sorry to hear about your dog.
Hugs to anyone that needs them!

Morning, another dusting of snow here but nothing serious. Bin men were here at 7 as usual so it can't be that bad! Apparently DS's school never closes because the teachers are all local enough to get in, so if it gets worse he'll still be at school tomorrow. He keeps peeking through the letterbox at it bless him.
Glad it's LR day, swish and swiped yesterday but it needs a good going over. Going to pull the sofas out and everything. Wish me luck...

Slept v. well for once which is nice. No snow, but it looks like it might. And it's bitterly cold. Sartorial elegance goes out the window today. The office was so cold yesterday, I am going in with leg warmers and fingerless gloves.....I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning All
We have quite a bit of snow this morning for us - a couple of inches - and it's still snowing. I was undecided whether to take the car as although the main roads will be clear the estates aren't so I've got to get off our estate and get onto the estate where the school is which is always bad. I think I'll probably risk it though as I can always leave the car here when I come home at lunchtime if the weather is getting any worse. The kids have already made a snowman when we took the dog out and want to go out and play in the snow again after school. Probably take the sledges up then.
Anyway, have a good day all
Hugs

Brrrrrrr!! Finally snowy here, but not too bad so far. School is still open so I will do the school run and then pop into town for Euros and socks for me (how is it that I only have 3 pairs of socks?! No wonder I'm always doing washing!) Then when I get home I will get today's list done, hopefully DD will be a bit more cheerful than she is at the moment - very grumpy!

Good Morning
Polly I'm so sorry to hear about your pup. <<hugs>>
Well, all up early here. Perth and Kinross council are on a mission to clear the snow off the pavements (at 5.30 in the morning) but it sounds instead like they're digging them up! Still, at least they're doing something! Last year nothing at all was done and it was terrible watching the older people try to walk down the very slidey streets.
Children off again, and DD2 waiting to hear if papers have been delivered to papershop so she can get on with her round. So proud of her. She's taking this all so seriously. She told me how much she had saved the other day.. just under £100. Very good says I , "Oh yes, but you wouldn't believe the number of mini-rolls and tuck shop stuff I've turned down to save it" Good for her!!!
