I love christmas!
Tree went up the weekend after bonfire night, the decs the weekend following. All presents bought and most wrapped. Christmas cake finished yesterday - however this is going into a competition on Friday - 1st prize £100.
However, mrs ramjet is due to give birth in early january. Our first child was also due in early jan, but he arrived on the 19th Dec! Therefore, we're getting everything in place!Mortgage Free Wannabe

So, lights, decorations, trees etc are completely inappropriate and are far too early.
I thought Christmas trees and wreaths were pagan symbols, the tree and candles on it being symbols of returning life and light as we pass the shortest day of the year, and the wreath on the door a symbol of the circle of life or "wheel of the year" renewal and rebirth, (Yule means wheel), so nothing to do with Christianity.:)
Each to their own. :rudolf:
And Father Christmas wore green, ( in "A Christmas Carol" the ghost of Christmas present is described as a large man with a red beard and a fur-lined green robe) but I believe red was popularised by a well known drinks company to match the company colours. :santa2:If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0
