Don't know if can be bothered this year as I'm feeling a bit of a humbug this season.

I have a big fibre optic tree and a smaller normal one.

Im planning to make thursday a really chrismassy day. Going to see my 5 year old in his frist school Xmas show. He has confused being a "star in the show" with "star of the show", did make me laugh. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Then I plan to come home and put the tree and decorations up. Might even make a start on the wrapping marathon of pressies.

A baileys coffee (or two), home-made mince pies and some christmas cd on in the background should make it fun.:D

Putting mine up today...really need cheering up and if a few twinkly lights and baubles can do that, then great.

Mine goes up on the 17th dec every year, as it is my nieces birthday and her and my daughter always go iceskating in the morning for her birthday , lunch with my sis and bro in law and then back to mine to put the tree up and decorate it.:).Then on the 18th they put up my sisters tree and decs and then off to the cinema .Same ritual for the past 7 years, only time it changes is when they finish school after the 17th which is hardly ever.

I love Christmas, but don't put my Christmas tree up for another couple of weeks. As a Christian i prepare for Christmas by observing Advent, which leads us up to Christmas. Today i get my advent wreath and candles out of 'storage' though, and shall light the first candle on the wreath to signify that today is the first Sunday of Advent...i shall go on lighting that same candle for the rest of the week until next Sunday when i light the candle that has been lit today and another candle for next Sunday, and so on, until the final candle is lit (along with all the previously lit candles) on Christmas day :)

We always had an advent candle wreath growing up and I loved it! It always symbolised the start of christmas for me, unfortunately after 27 years it gave up the ghost and my Mum threw it away:(
  • Christmas Tree (real one) won't even be bought till near to Christmas Eve.
It comes down on Twelfth Night.
