Wow - LT that's superb if you could claw it back that fast - well and truly worth doing then!

I think you will notice a real difference in the dampness - Oh, and if you've got any black spots on painted walls, makeup remover wipes (the 30p from Wilkinsons ones) do a superb job of removing them. Probably best not to ask what on earth made me try that one!

hi everyone, I need some advice and I need to vent (sorry about this). Found on internet, pic of eldest showing off in our bedroom whilst we were out, I went nuts and asked him to remove it. Told him its an invasion of privacy etc and although he's removed it he can't see why I'm upset. Help!

(((((( hugs)))))) unix, i can see why you're fuming. I can also see by experience (my nephew this evening) why your eldest can't see why you're upset. You have every right to be upset, when we were kids we didn't go into my parents bedroom with out invitation or instruction. Has he done anything silly like this before?

So the first thing is that YOUR bedroom IS PRIVATE he is not allowed in there EVER without permission. But he should know that already. How old is he? And I guess also what do you mean by showing off? Ie not with a girl:eek::eek::eek::eek:.
I guess you need to say that he has a choice about putting him on the net (depending on what age he is of course, if he is under 16 then it is your choice), but not your room or posessions, nor his room or posessions if he lives with you.

I would suggest that he loses internet, mobile and tv privalages between now and xmas as a means of driving home to him just how dimly you view this.

but then I am harsh me:D
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

ah that explains why you're so upset about it this time. as a non parent person i don't always feel best placed to offer advice on what to do but i can send you hugs and listen should you need an ear to vent at.
  • (()) uni its hard with teenagers - they constantly need to push boundaries. I wonder how he'd feel if you went taking picture in his space - maybe that would make him understand how you feel, we all need our own space. I feel odd if I have to go into my kids rooms when they aren't about - x

EH - woo hoo on all accounts

LT - glad you're not pushing back the dfd too much :) well doen for working it out and good if you're feeling a bit better.

    yes he has.

have a family picnic in his bedroom - when he's in or out?

Or at least suggest it - if no one has their own space then why not - maybe that will hit it home?

Its hard because as a 'non-step parent' I find it hard to comment also - I know how I expect my own kids to behave - but when you're a step parent I think your job is 100 times harder I hope his dad is fizzing too!

(()) uni - being either is very hard.
