Oh (((((Pippi))))), so sorry to hear of your friend/mentor. (((((Wik))))) too...your mum then? I hope she recovers soon.

Sounds like you are in the wars too Pip...horrible to be ill at any time, but when it stops you from being where you want to be..... Perhaps you'll be well enough come half-term in a week or two.

By the way, I have emailed you....:j

Good morning everyone, hope that Tuesday brings better health for Pip and Wik's mummy and that everyone is feeling happy and ready for whatever today throws at us (better be good stuff or else, lol).

DD woke me with her snoring at stupid o'clock, I don't remember her coming in but the first thing she said on waking was "I love you mummy" so I let her off, I'm such a softie!

Morning. Wik, I hope that your Mum gets well soon. Pippi - hope that the chest infection subsides soon. Horrible to be ill but worse when it lingers and causes other issues.

I was thinking of you in Darwin at the beach earlier. I am really getting fed up looking for my own little Berlingo/Kangoo. Missing my little jaunts to the beach very much indeed so I will have to live vicariously through your adventures for now.

Oh Wik, I wondered if it was your mum. Hugs to you too. Pippi, with the chest infection, are you doing the whole thing of steam bathing your head? Nasal spray (sometimes that feels horrible)..... drinking lots so you can keep on blowing your nose? Sorry to be all over-maternal, it must be hard in that climate, and then with the extra stress of rellie illness....

    Hugs again.

KC and all thank you for the lovely comments - much appreciated - I'm currently being a mad stalker lady with wik - and trying to figure a cunning plan which might involve leeds/bradford and a hairyplane.

Today has been a little insane - started with Ds bursting into my room at midnight to tell me his dad had finally put money into his account, oh the newly converted to internet banking!
Then the scrambling in the walls started all night long
Then of course I'd a chapter to get in and wanted to leave for work early with DD and go straight from the bus drop off

WOULD the pesky mutt get up?????????????????????????????????? When you find yourself reasoning with a very short semi bald doggie at 7.45am - telling him you'll take him for a lovely walk at lunchtime, yes it is early but I've a chapter to get in etc - and he still refuses to move!!!!! I caught myself muttering down the stairs as I stomped out of the house much to the amusement of DD - about how ungrateful HE was, not thinking of others, didn't he know how busy we were etc - 'whats my brother done now' - um no um it was peedie actually.

Then we had a good giggle.

Trying to reason with a sleepy dog it would seem doesn't work.

He was very grateful to see us tonight though and it was light enough for a walk after work woo hoo!!!!

13 eggs today - don't ask I think perhaps they weren't collected yesterday - seeminglythere are ALWAYs hens on nests when I ask other people to check!!

Money Update - hurray finally an update!!

Month 2 with no wages at all

Everything OK ish BT bill out £45 (new broadband package and phone calls to france, no other provider here) and one OD has the princely sum of 25 left in it - but its under the limit and nothing out of there for a couple of weeks

Other account OD (190 left) - which takes into account the payment the pad made on Monday to the evil cc (£65)

We are living in jugglybankoverdrafts at the moment

Petrol in the car again 14.5ltrs for £20 (137.9 ltr) on the CC - hoping to get 145 miles from this - watch this space!

DD another grade for cello (there's another £50 gone) eek - might actually email her dad and chance my arm you never know eh?

Credit cards now I'm doing this to make myself pad them more I'm too scared to think about it all having been good and been paying the balance each month - but not at the moment

LLoyds at 364 - using this for petrol/food/etc this month will be paid off at end of month by hook or selling a child
Capitaluno - 1400 - (shreeky face central) now don't tell me off (!) but this had the first credit fiasco payment on it (872) which is worth the eek balance for the moment, car tax, insurance, extra insurance, mot exhaust fitting and battery etc needed to mend it. I'm not proud but there you are - its coming down bit by peedie bit. Everything extra is going here at the moment.

Waiting for extra money to come in (£400 or there abouts which can go straight to capitaluno) and the eggington money ticks in at bits and bobs a week.

Not sorted out what on earth is happenning with teaching money - whilst its not alot, its more if you actually get paid it - must email the lovely girl again.

Need to restart amazon etc and boot myself up the derrier to get sorted out.

Also waiting to hear about an extra 20/hr a week project for minimum wage for 4 months - minimum wages being better than NO wages.

And of course I need to get my polytunnel up pronto (ish)

Another 6000 words went in today - need to write a similar amount over the next couple weeks.

The stripeysocks shop is slowly being depleted - we've run out of some things and getting very low on others - whilst it would appear we still have a rice mountain to get through and we clearly don't really eat any tinned fruit! But you live and learn. Household stuff ticking over cleaning/bathroom wise. Freezers are as expected and bulging :)

There you have it - my life on a plate :)

    Reduced of course!!

ps I've been putting egg money and any extra dosh into a terramuni for holidays etc - now I'm thinking it would be more prudent to break into it and put anything extra into CC - its fine to save when saving is extra - but do I want a jar full of £1 egg money and other loose silver/£1's when I've got a balance over 1400 on a crazy card?

I should break into it right??

pps people update next - lots to answer from up there!! xx

    Hope you're all good

A reduced plate :rotfl:and sleepy dogs :staradmin and DD thinking you were talking about DS :kisses3:

But severely "b*ggr" to the no-wages (including for teaching work you've done ).

It sounds *so* tough, Pippi, I'm not sure how you're managing, but you obviously are .... I hope the money you're owed comes through soon, and I *definitely* hope your internet business gets going soon - I've just been praising you on turfy's diary as an example of someone who can manage to make a living via the web living a geographically isolated life ....

Take care. Glad you're in constant communication with Wik.

    I would break into it.

It probably won't feel great, and it depends on how long you expect to be paying off the evil CC... if it's longer than, say, a year, then you need a bit of holiday/playtime money put by (IMHO), but if you think you can clear it pronto-ish then throw everything you have at it.

Thems my two pence, off to write proper dissertation proposal thingy now ()

  • Aw thanks KC - its not all bad - the CC is bad due to that balance reduction I got offered and I knew it would be a tough few months. My biggest problem is shopping for food - I have enough bread and milk to sink a ship - I need to stop my 'popping for reduced bits' even if its only for a month or two - but its hard to be sure those bargains will be there when I go back - but they will wont' they?

Oh thank you for saying lovely things about me to others :) I do now have a free website :) just nowt on there :)

We'll get there - it was always going to be a juggle this bit, but I was off on full pay when I was sick, so can't really moan too much.

big fat kiss at you - ta for the drinking enough fluids tip - wouldn't have thought of that!

Cheri - not many beach adventures here - mind you we did walk to the local beach on sunday - trying to use it more due to petrol costs!

KK your dd made me giggle :) hope lifes well with you!

Keiss - emailed you back - how exciting!!

EH thank you we're all giving her a huge mega virtual cuddle xxxx

Hmmmm.....tricky one about the terramundi - my sensible head is saying that of course you should break into it, and whatever are you thinking of doing anything else...but my logical head is saying that if that is your only realistic budget for holibobs etc, then it *might* be better to leave it be for the moment.....there is also the possibility that you might need some dosh to pay for unexpected flights etc by the sounds of it, so perhaps that money might be best saved for using/putting towards that, rather than anything else? What does your gut instinct tell you?

Hurrah to DS being converted to internet banking :D

That is the theory I think it will be gone before my birthday (well here's hoping) - and I've previous at paying things off quickly due to the support on here so I'm determined to do this one quickly too - :D

Dissertation proposal - eek - what you thinking? A fun topic I hope?

:j off to find a hammer or at least a screwdriver well after I've had a think, EH had some good points there too :j
