Woo hoo, it's St Andrew's Day (do you get to celebrate in some particularly lovely way? like Burns Night with all the whisky (yuk) and haggis (veggie, yum)??)
and it's also my payday, which I do believe is definitely a cause for celebration worldwide (or at least in my house, given stupid overspending last month)

Happy St Andrews Day Pippi :T

Ooh, kittikins, payday here too! :T
And working at home day thank goodness - another couple of inches overnight here, and it's still snowing hard. Might go out for a walk in it later, but I'm *very* glad I'm not trying to get all the way to work!
Stay safe you lot..0 -
Morning all you cheery faces nice to see you all - I'm in the snow - meeting at one in town - um dunno if thats even a do-er - can't get out of the track at the moment................. But its sunny and sea is all misty which means its warming up. More snow last night but not much by the look of it - although its all frozen solid.
Happy st andrews dayno special celebration here I'm afraid - although I could indulge in haggis later......................:)
Kids off school - my major excitement was a robin here yesterday first time I've seen one here on stripey island for 3-4 years (well in my patch anyway)- I've a question - I've a billion (I kid not) starlings on the various bird tables - who are bullyign the rest of my wee birdies - any ideas - I've tried spreading the food out - they just bully over a larger distance........
Whoop whoop for pay days - I think I get my mearge last 3 days pay for this month next week which will be my final ever one.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning! I get mobs of starlings too, Pippi, they don't stay long enough to take over permanently, I've no idea how to manage them, I'm afraid.
Hope you manage to liberate yourself from the frozen track - and Happy St Andrews Day!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I was brave and walked DD up to school, thought I'd make the most of it for her as by tomorrow it will be icy and slippery and I'll not be quite so keen, lol. Thankfully bumped into a mummy friend in her nice warm car, so got a lift back0

KK well done - starnac - wasn't intentional honest - nice to see you
Uni - we've been putting on the storage heaters and trying to watch things - but inevitably with everyone home - its harder to keep everything to a minimum - we've curtains mostly shut and the blinds on rooms which are now permanently closed - I don't like not seeing out but I prefer being warm!
Opened up the upstairs living room curtains as its sunny to warm up that room and have 'half' the down stairs sunny room open - mainly to watch the birds..........
KC I used your idea bout the water bottles - but tweaked it - put metal water bottles on top of the storage heaters warms them up a treat! We can snuggle into them.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Its not free, but its a really good idea - transferring the energy of the storage heater to where its needed more! Excellent
Note to self: empty new vacuum cleaner more often - its bagless, and I had to *pull* the dirt out of the nozzle thingy :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0
