yeah but the claim is in my name so im the one that has to call/speak to them

I dont know if you saw on the other thread about the weather - but until I got those grippy things last year for my shoes I used to put a pair of socks over my boots or shoes when it was snowy/icy. I was using a walking stick at the time and I stuck to the floor pretty damn good that way;) not the best fashion statement maybe but who cares eh:p. Im on crutches now but I would still use socks when I have to go to the hosp next week if I didnt have the grip things.

Might be worth you giving it a go so you can get down to the benefit office and get some money for definate before the weekend?

theyve issued a same day payment into our bank, just waiting for it to go in

i read about the sock idea the other night, seems loads of people do it lol

Follow a postman around and save up the pink elastic bands they drop everyhwere they go, use them for grippers on our shoes.

If you don't plan on leaving the comfort of your flat during this bad weather (not a bad idea, granted) then why is this payment so urgent?
