You need to make sure then Tinks that they do not issue you with a CROSSED giro, They can issue unrossed ones for emergency payments (they dont like to but they can) you will just have to tell them which post office you are going to cash it at, and take along some ID with you such as driving licence, or passport.

If they said to you today that they are going to do the payment to your bank then they will not issue you witha girocheque as that payment has been sent. They would have sent it via faster payments. If your bank is not setup for accepting faster payments then they would have told you that on the phone and you would have the option of a girocheque.

They will not now recall the payment to your bank to issue you with a Giro. I suggest at 9am tomorrow morning you call your bank again and cheque to see if any payment is there, if so, good. If not then get back onto them and ask when it was sent, how it was sent and when the expectation is that it will be received and take it from there.

I went to the Post Office with a friend yesterday as she had a giro to cash, they took her bank card as id as she doesnt have a driving licence or passport either.
Wouldn't do any harm to take something with your address on too, just in case your Post Office ask for it.

Well if you had to go and pick your giro up you would of had to wouldn't you.

Same as if you have to go to the bank if the money is there to buy your groceries.

Everyone else has to, regardless of the weather, If my benefits don't arrive and i have to go to the dole office, i have to use my wheelchair, yes in the ice, and in the snow too if i had to, depends how much you need your money doesn't it.

You either need it or you don't.
