One of the hardest things with McD's is finding their jobs page. It's not obvious where they hide it is it.

I just tried to find them.... if you're struggling, it's here: https://careers.peopleclick.com/careerscp/client_mcdonalds/crew/search.do

I did a search, that says they have one job, dated July 2010.... I doubt they still have that then. It's not actually with McD's - it appears my local one (next one's 15 miles away) is a franchise.

How about mcdonalds and get a mcdegree,

I accept it is slightly harder than people think to get a job as some areas of the country are more affluent with jobs than others, the last couple of weeks there has only been 1 job that actually caught my eye as being interesting. Luckily i am in work(even though its mind numbigly boring) but not sure how long i could last if i didnt have a job, i search jobsite, direct.gov and the others but the jobs on there are all for people with qualifications and/or years of experience which i dotn have or the jobs are ones i cant see myself doing

Having basic accounting experience I was rejected at Mcdonalds. I was lucky that Asda were hiring for Christmas staff and were happy to take on people who may not stay.

Honestly Mc'Ds don't want to have to replace people in 3-6 months when they find something in their previous field.

I imagine every single one of them would get a job actually or at the very least a couple of interviews, especially if they were willing to do telesales or say be a kitchen porter.

Already applied for 3 porters and 12 telesales jobs and nothing
ive applied for jobs that are 5/6/7 hours a week and still nothing,
my cv is on 6 different job sites and i look on JC every day
ive been round the 2 local industrial estates leaving CV and ive been through the yellow pages sending cv to random companies
    and im still unemployed :mad::mad:

and out of 108 job apps (not counting blanket CV sending and ind est) ive had 2 interviews and not one of the other 106 have sent a thanks but no thanks letter

SIGH there is a job for me there and i WILL find it
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

i think these days you dont tend to find companies will send no thanks letter out as its costly plus its time consuming, i admit it woudl be nice to get 1 since you spent your own time filling in the form and submitted it,

are there any new firms opening up or extending the current business nearby, i applied for 3 jobs at firms where were opening new stores or extending albeit i had no thanks but i tried

In my opinion in the current job market it is taking twice as long to find a job as previously (well it did for me recently compared to 2009). I was going for jobs against hundreds of other applicants......its really tough. Getting an interview is an achievement these days!! There are sooooo many well qualified, intelligent, lovely people out there that it employers really are getting an incredible response. So its not that easy to just 'get a job' especially if you are considered overqualified, previously better paid, not local.... you can be discounted for so many reasons and of course some jobs you just couldnt live on the wages so you couldnt apply.... So easy for some to take the moral high ground!

to me cv on record means it will go on file and they would contact you if anything comes up but yes most firms could put it in the bin

must the mcdonalds your daughter applied for as theres mcjobs at the mcdonalds close to me
possibly, it's not just McD's she's asked at but KFC and Pizza hut too, the answer is the same at all of them. The only one that is hiring is Burger King, but the only shift available was the night one ending at 2am, which she can't do as she has no way to get home at the end of it as the buses stop running at 11pm (which is probably one of the reasons it's available!)

lol I know for a fact a lot of them end up in the bin.....I handed my cv into a local garage door company here with a cover letter explaining I was looking for admin/reception work. They said they would keep it on file.

A few months later they advertised for a receptionist, so I called up to see if they still had my CV and should I still apply via their website. I was told that I should apply because unless you happen to hand your CV in at the same time they are looking for staff they simply bin it.
