The best one I had is last year I ordered a dvd from Amazon and selected next-day delivery via city-link.
The driver left it in a wheelie bin, but not this house's wheelie bin, but the house 3 doors down bin. Cue some phoning up and the driver having to come back to find where he had left the package.0 -
I have had 2 games, a blu ray and a book delivered from Amazon in the last few days and they were both delivered by my trusty RM postie. They were in thin boxes, so they fitted through my letter box.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

Has anyone been treated to the HDNL email 'special'? I enquired about the location of my parcel only to be told it had been left in the care of 'Mr Red Bin' or words to that effect... I'm pretty sure it was auto-sent but still gave us a laugh!
Since then, we have ordered a light (on Black Friday) and they delivered, to 'between the bins'... no light... so Amazon ordered another one. First class delivery this time, which was yet again left between the blooming bins! Although it was there this time.
Beggars belief when next doors lights are on all day and she's happy to take parcels in (they would obviously need to knock to know this). If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Why can't online stores give the customer a choice - I'd rather pay more and have it delivered by Royal Mail.
Royal Mail aren't necessarily better, and has been pointed out they cost a lot more which puts a lot of people off!
At least when something goes wrong with the couriers we (the company) can speak to a real person about it, plus you can usually do something about it the same day. Royal Mail's automated service is dreadful (but if you stay quiet long enough it will put you through to a real person) and they also state you have to wait a certain length of time before you can take any action.0 -
Harry_Flashman wrote: »I guess the other side of this is .............. why do people order stuff to be delivered to their houses when they're out at work (or wherever)?
I used to work as a courier and private addresses were a real nightmare and waste of time (bearing in mind my bonus depended on how fast I got round). Why not get your stuff delivered to work, or the pub, or somewhere that there's someone to accept it?
I paid for Nominated Day Delivery as I knew I wouldn't be in until that date as was away for a few days. Got home to cards saying that
1.I was out,
2.was out again
3.was out again so it had been returned to the company.
ALL before the nominated delivery day - which was 2 days after I got back (to allow me a lie-in after travelling)
Admittedly the company sent me a duplicate order when I complained - on the correct day this time, but it took 6 weeks for them to credit the original order to my cc...
it's not always the fault of the recipient.:hello:

I am expecting another delivery from Amazon, but it's a DAB radio so won't fit through the letterbox.
According to the tracking details, it's being delivered by a company called "Yodel". Who are they?Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -

had a recorded delivery from Royal Mail, had checked progress on website as it was a little late. however is was delivered the next day. posted through the letterbox. (I hadn't asked for recorded, it just happened to be the service offered)
just for sake of messing about I checked it's progress again and was a little suprised to see my signature on the website - next to "item delivered" status. well, not my signature if you get my meaning.
I wasn't that bothered that the item had been pushed through the door, but having my signature forged (even badly) made me uneasyDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0
