Okay so time for a Money update I think
Going off the figures I posted here last this is what our debt looks like now
Car Loan [STRIKE]£2486.64[/STRIKE] £0 :j
Barclaycard (DH) [STRIKE]£3369.98[/STRIKE] £3229.86
N/W cc (0%) [STRIKE]£1700.15[/STRIKE] £1625.15
Total [STRIKE]£8099.13[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£7878.83[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£7509.41[/STRIKE] £4855.01 :T
under the £5k mark now. Got a few expenses coming up though including a trip up north to sort out our rental property and DD's birthday (although doing that as MSE as possible). Nearly there nowGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
did well on ebay last week. Made about £20 after fees so not bad. Will try to do that again this week. All monies sitting in my paypal account for a minute while I decide what to do with it. Do I put it into my savings for when my pay drops to SMP or should I put it towards our debts? I can't decide at the moment.
One thing I have done is set up a regular payment from our joint account to our debt savings account to the value of the car loan. We are so used to seeing it go out now we def won't miss it and it would probable be wasted otherwise. DH's cc is a repayment plan so we're not sure if they will let us make overpayments without hiking the interest up. (must get DH to ring them to ask) so we've got a savings pot going in the meantime to save up the balance of the card to pay off in full. The car loan was £120 a month so that's a fair amount going into the savings account each month. Hopefully next year that will actually be savings and not "debt savings" which surely is a contradiction in terms!!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
[STRIKE]empty nursery of junk[/STRIKE] and get DH to paint it okay won't make/save me any money but will make me feel a bit more prepared for the baby
:j:jnursery is now clear ready to be painted. I'm so pleased. This has been playing on my mind for weeks now but I just haven't had the energy/motivation to do it. I made myself get it done in little bursts today and it didn't actually take that long. Maybe I should use the same principle for the rest of the house. I'm planning on getting the ironing done tonight which will clear off the one settee in the living room. DD and DH can tidy the floor while I do that (mostly DD's toys) so that'll be another room done.
My ebay pile has grown too through sorting through boxes I haven't opened in about a year. Shame it's not summer as have also got a big car boot sale pile. Will get DH to put that up in the attic ready for next year now. Must get ebaying though.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
checkout for the tenant is going ahead tomorrow so DH is going up early wedensday morning to get a start on the re decoration. DD and I will follow him up on the weekend and we can get some visiting in too while we are up there. hopefully there won't be *too* much work needing doing to the house as we can't afford for it to be empty too long.
I feel quite fed up at the moment. I feel very fat and uncomfortable. I'm not sleeping very well due to being uncomfortable and money is quite tight til payday on friday.
on the upside we made use of the 3 for 2 offer in b00ts over the weekend and paid using the points I've saved all year on my card. DH's family is now almost finished plus a few others and we've only spent £3.50 in actual money. not bad really. must make this a challenge for next year. a money neutral christmas. sounds good to meGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Exciting about the nursery being ready to paint!
Is horrible feeling all uncomfortable towards the end isn't it. Hope you manage to get some sleep before baby.
You have done really well on the christmas pressies.0 -

Sorry to hear you're uncomfortableI feel like this too with the baby kicking my in the ribs at night.
Hope you're not doing any decorating and inhaling paint fumes. Hope you get some rest.Overpay!0 -
I always leave it so long between posts on here. I must post more often to keep up motivation. Motivation is something that I need at the moment as I feel as though everytime we are actually getting somewhere with moeny and paying off our debts then something else comes up to knock us back again.
This morning I have been signing up to survey sites and have listed more items on ebay. DH is ringing the letting agents to complain about the rubbish service we get from them. We will probably move agents if they don't pull their finger out tbh.
My baby savings have now reached their target thanks to the 100 day challenge and there is still just under 40 days to go so i have set myself a new target of £300 to go in our debt savings. Hopefully I'll manage to reach that too but every little bit helps so even I only make half it's better than nothing.
Right off to the up your income boards to get some ideas for making a bit of extra money at home.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
morning all. first load of washing out on line and kettle has just boiled. my mum took DD to school this morning so saved on bus fare. today I have to "get going" and do some things. I've borrowed some PMA from the small things thread and am now looking for some motivation
need to check banks but am afraid it will ruin my positive attitude as it is very tight this month.
mmmm this tea could do with a biscuit. shame we only have party rings here. maybe I need to add "make biscuits" to list todayGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
so my list for today is
[STRIKE]check banking[/STRIKE] not looking good
[STRIKE]surveys[/STRIKE]
HC second load in machine
line dry first load on line
tidy kitchen and front room
[STRIKE]ring letting agents[/STRIKE] oh how I hate letting agents
[STRIKE]finish sorting paperwork[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]shredding[/STRIKE] (paper kind not the excercise kind)
do some work for meeting tomorrow
wrap present for DD off her new brother and put in hospital bag
write birth plan (do I really need this??? I don't think they even read it last time)
[STRIKE]relist items on eb4y[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]update and print out invites for party[/STRIKE] nice easy one

must try to get all this done today. DH is away and is coming back today and it would be nice for him to come home to a tidy house (for once)Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I relisted some things that didn't sell over the weekend and have got watchers on them already! how strange considering no one wanted them the first time around.
got 22 items on there at the moment. some finish tomorrow - 3 will sell and got watchers on a few more so hopefully they will get some bids before they finish and the rest finish on sunday. still got 2 boxes full of things to list though. must get going on these to make some much needed extra money.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
