HOWEVER if you click on the links on the website to try to apply for OE 11, it's not possible to apply. I think they have stopped applications. !!!!!!!s. (Isn't it against the law to advertise something at a particular price but refuse to sell it when asked to?).
I yesterday received the initial contract for OE 11 with Scottish power. I have been chasing Uswitch prices on another thread.
OE11 seems linked to their standard rate which has not yet seen a price increase in the current round of hikes (I think i am right here) The comparison sites I am not convinced have calculated for the tariff increase due in a couple of days. So I am anticipating cancelling my changeover to Scottish Power. its no good me assuming my savings on todays rate when I know there is going to be a hike in 3 days and almost certain a bigger hike in the near future to their standard rate.
They lock me in for a year but they can change either tariff at will to any amount as many times as they wish. yet they can fine me if I want to leave!
...
I wish people wouldn't spout on about how easy it is to change energy suppliers, it just plainly not true0 -
The OE11 tariff on the website has the new prices, if you can get to it, applicable from 25th November.
I have downloaded it and can send it if you PM me your email address.

Hi,
I'm currently on the online saver 7 deal that ends at the end of Nov. I've just had my email from Sp offering the deal be extended until Nov 11 but I'm confused tbh.
The new prices they have quoted are a little more on elect but double on gas but I'm not sure if these prices are before the increase or including it because the price booklet is dated Nov 10.
Also when I looked on a comparison site, it mentioned another deal with Sp, online energy saver 11 with a better gas price than I'm offered so I tried to look into this but there are no details on this offer on the SP website.
Has anyone else heard of this offer?
Thanks
You can apply to switch today, you will still be on supply and thus in contract with SP until Christmas-well after the end of the Saver 7 lock-in on 30/11.
The 'extension' offer simply gives you the same discount on the standard tariff for another 12m 'automatically', i.e. you won' t revert to standard tariff on 30/11. However, you'll still be subject to the large increase in overall SP pricing that applies from November 25th to all tariffs other than fixed.
My take on this is that SP have been shedding customers since the increase was announced (and since EDF announced the freeze and £100 bonus). So they're now making this offer a week before the tariff ends as a smokescreen-hoping some people will think it means they pay the same price for another 12m, not just get the same % discount off a higher price). No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I will wait until Dec, when the lock in finishes and compare prices then.
I was considering the EDF offer, but had a look and the price pledge only applies to "standard" tariffs, the same trick that British Gas uses.
I will look more closely when the time comes.

I've been working on Scot Power prices today on behalf of a mate who's Energy saver 7 deal finishes at the end of this month - It was obvious that SP's call centre was overwhemed with quiries
From the horses mouth, the prices of the '7' deal if customers stay on it when their contract term is ended are:
ELEC 1st Prime 225 units a Qtr 15.684p
Secondary units 10.272p
GAS 1st Prime 670 Kwh 6.146p
Secondary units 2.910
ALL Ex. VAT
The discounts are the same as before
For my mate Online Saver 11 is actually slightly cheaper than the original '7'
His annual use is: GAS 18,1678 Kwh ELEC 2243
Annual cost on Original '7' £757
.....................Run-on '7' £922
......................Online 11 £753
The dramitic reduction in the number of Prime Gas units works to his favour, but it not work for you, so do your own numbers0 -
Dogshome, if true then the figures you give are not too bad. But I suspect an error, because the electricity prices you've been given are lower than the current OE7 ones. These figures also differ from those on the SP website.

I've had enough, I don't understand it all, my head hurts and I'm fed up trying to figure out the best deal to transfer to. Got tons of scribbles all over the desk which are going in the bin.

Hi antrouser - The original '7' tariff prices were: ( I'm looking at 11 months bills)
ELEC Prime 14.398p
Secondary 10.253p
GAS Prime 3.177p
Secondary 2.382p0 -
Dogshome figures look OK, remember they are ex Vat and only relate to the particular area.
Eastern area primary Electric is 15.684 and Southern,my area, is 16.818.
