Am tempted to sign up for a new contract to either lock in the benefit or get a free cancellation if they do change the T&C...
Sounds a reasonable bet.;)0 -
Got a guy at carphonewarehouse to email me stating that 0870, 0844 and 0845 numbers are still inclusive of the xnet minutes. He did not mention that this would be changing in the near future, and Im yet to see anything which states that it is from O2.0

So the answer to my original question seems to be - yes 0870 are included in carphone warehouse o2 as well as o2 direct (which i already knew).
However, it seems to have thrown open another question... are things changing from 1st Nov 06?
Well one thing seems clear, NOBODY knows for sure!!
I went and asked in my local o2 store and they seem to think that these calls have NEVER been part of inclusive minutes, we all know that is utter rubbish. They definitely are at the moment.
Hopefully they will continue to be from 1st Nov 06. I have not seen anythin official from o2 and have had no contact via email/message/letter0 -

As i pointed out earlier for existing customers o2 would have to give 30 days notice to start charging ,and they have not done so. So i dont see it happening.
As for new customers it would not surprise me if they did this. Will find out in 10 days.;)0 -
I called up O2 sales (0870 225 7879) and asked them if there were any planned changes to the inclusion of 0845/0870 numbers and was told there weren't.
But then again, they would say that wouldn't they ??

I doubt that most of the front line salesmen know about any upcoming term changes until just before they come into force. If you spoke to a particularly perceptive sales rep they might tell you more, but otherwise it's going to be our November surprise.0

I am thinking about signing up for O2 from CPW but was waiting to see what their november deals are. Is it worth doing now or does the fact they can alter T&C's for current customers at 30 days notice not make it worth it? Thanks

Don't go through o2 cpw, they are not worth the hassle. I am having enough troubles with one of my contracts which was due to be cancelled, but is still running. Their customer service is horrible, phone waits are way too long, false promises, the whole package really.
Try and get o2 direct or other companies that use o2 direct.0 -
