We used to have a whippet who was so lazy it hurt until I got the food processor out to grate cheese! 'Like a whippet out of a trap!'

Evening all, slow day here I think I caught your dodgy tummy JackieG as I was up all night with the skitters, had felt a bit sick yesterday. Anyway had a day off work today, don't want to spread it although I think I probably caught it from one of the children anyway. Just feeling a bit sorry for myself really.

I have sorted out my house insurance for the year, applied for DDs new driving license (she has managed to lose it in Oz) and phoned the dealership about the car. Explained to the chap that the wheel wouldn't come off and he said, quote, 'What do you want me to do about it?' I calmly told him I would like to have the puncture repaired and could they help by collecting the car and they have said no. To add insult to injury the battery is now flat and I can't lock it. Bl***y cars.

Camelot, once I couldn't get the tyre off the car and the AA had to come do it for me, it is included in some levels of policy with them, if you have cover! He had to jack the car right up and lie underneath and batter it off with a mallet!!

Well actually my evening has just got a bit better. My neighbour just knocked on my door and handed me a parcel he had taken in for me. The parcel contained this book:

I have subscribed to Cook Vegetarian magazine as an early Xmas present to myself and this book came free with the subscription :j It's massive and i've only read the first chapter on soups so far but I want to make them all! My mum had the original book whilst I was growing up so it's nice that I have my own copy now

Thanks JackieG but I don't have cover for that one, just the older one. Thought buying a new car would mean that I would have a couple of years of trouble free driving! Will call at the local garage tomorrow to ask if they can help.

Camelot....this happened to us some time ago and when I rang my garage ( miles away) the guy suggested that we start the car and move it forward a foot or so....worked like a dream but have just seen that your battery is flat so not a possibility....if this is a new, new car surely it is still under warranty and should start??

My usual nice start to Monday with my knitting group this morning.....think its really a chatting group as most of us can knit and crochet fine....I enjoy it anyway.

JackieG....do you have the recipe for the sausage rolls you make, keep meaning to ask you, really enjoyed them.

Csarina.....would you go back to the spare room for a few nights to get a decent sleep.

I really don't want to hear any more talk of snow....it would be just my luck to be snowed in here and not able to get to Edinburgh!

Not sure what is bothering OH to-day....he is just not talking...not vexed with anyone but even more silent than usual...of course he might not be feeling well but would he say anything, would he hell!

Dinner was pasta with sausage and salami...turned out well, I like that type of thing every so often, just now would murder a chicken sandwich, nothing else will do and guess what, we have no cooked chicken!

Meant to be in bed by now, but couldn't get on here earlier so went onto bookdepository.com and spent another €24 of myPaypal money on more books....think I have enough for all the grandchildren now.
