Morning All. Stayed up late last night to get my body ready to work evenings (i usually like going to bed around 10pm, work now finishes at 10:30!) Quite excited about starting tonight.

Have to go pick up my car from my brother's house near richmond today, as tomorrow i am taking a friend to hospital, his liver has had it and they need to work out exactly how damaged it is. - it's self inflincted, but very sad still.

Am going to make spag bol tonight as i can do the sauce and OH can reheat and make fresh pasta later (he refuses to heat up most foods so trying to think of meals where it's not too hard to either make two of or where the sauce just needs heated and the rest can be done fresh)

He's stolen the pup again today, i had hoped i'd get to take him on a long walk..maybe this will back up my 'lets get another dog' arguement...

Downstairs has been cleaned and hoovered and mopped, 2 washes blowing on the line, its beautiful here :T, just going to do upstairs, will then prep the dinner and make a bread pudding with left over fruit loaf thats past its best.

that is the last time I take ANY child food shopping. My patience cannot stand it :mad: DD didn't want to sit in the trolley, she wanted to walk which was fine until about half way round when she started acting up. Wants to be carried :eek: Is it no wonder I have a bad back So agreed with mum without fail I shall stick to online shopping. Anyone know if you still get points on Nectar if you shop online. I normally have the points off my bill but I doubt they'll do that online.......

So got shopping to put away, house looks like a tip (cat toys everywhere :eek:) and I've got one load of washing to hang up. Dusting.....erm well that will be done if I have time.

Bitsy - I sympathise re shopping, DS climbs out of the trolleys Lidls dont have straps:mad:. You also won't get tempted on any wants , i'm sure you get nectar points too.

Have made bread, chutney bubbling away, spiced apple loaf (i did a traybake tho), my old lady's ironing and dropped off, mine is stacked on the chair . LO pork is a Rogan Josh, will do rice soon.

Right onwards and upwards....trying to stay on top of things ATM as the w/end went by in a blur, and i was really !!!!ed off about doing things/running about for everyone else i have vowed to sloooow down:D.

Afternoon all,

Bit of a lurker but I'm posting a little more each week! No rain for me, had a nice 40 min walk in the weak sunshine as OH forgot her work shoes so I had to go and drop them off, was really hot when I got back, think I wrapped up too warm!

Having a tidying day today, load number 2 in is the washing machine. I made a really good batch of laundry gloop this time so I'm trying to get on top of the laundry mountain. Just sat down from having a break deep cleaning the bathroom. Found out that using white toothpaste on the shower runner thingys really gets the grime off. Have used vinegar on the door and mirror but I don't have any newspaper so it's not buffering up as much as I'd like. But I'm pleased I'm doing all this cleaning and not a shop bought cleaner in sight

Meant to be having HM leek and potato soup tonight but have some sausages and bacon to use up so I might make a few pots of pasta bake instead. Am waiting for my bananas to ripen so I can make banana and butternut squash loaf. Bit worried as I think the squash might go off before the bananas are ready :S

Wmf and Sunnyday Dogs are positively psychic where cheese is concerned. Many, many years ago, I had a beagle/Staffy cross called Tina. Now, I could go to the fridge as many times as I liked and she wouldn't take any notice - unless I was going for cheese. Then she'd be there, drooling on the floor, before my hand could even touch the packet!:rotfl:

BB so glad you found your bracelet. It's a horrid feeling when something precious goes missing - my engagement ring disappeared for several months one time.

I've been varnishing a door this morning. It's laid out on the kitchen floor, so space is a tad limited in there, but it's preferable to the hall, where Mr LW was working on it yesterday. I feel a bit queasy now, which I suspect is due to the fumes from the varnish. _pale_

Doing veggie stew for dins, which will be interesting, as I do it in the micro, and will have to stretch across the aforementioned door.

BB - you can still collect nectar points online - not sure about redeeming them as haven't tried.

I just made my spag bol, was lovely, absolutely stuffed though! And the stew is in the SC ready to switch on tomorrow.

Went to my brothers place today in Chiswick, It's really nice, met his GF for the first time too.

Just need to have a bath and do my hair, then ready for work!

Ha ha - LOVE it!! Our 'last' oldie could read my mind - honestly!! I would be minding my own business, she would be sleeping....and I would just THINK...hhhmmm we'll go out for a walk and she would be at my feet stretching and getting ready for a nice saunter. I must have given off some body language that she could read.
Managed one nice dry walk today and 2 wet ones. Ah well.
Tea is easy tonight - salmon steaks from the freezer. I usually do Cajun salmon but might just poach them this time. have potatoes, carrots and green veg.
Ironed bedding and attempted to make the spare bed up. The duvet is stupid (yes, it is, not me) and I managed to fit it, not very successfully, sideways into the nicely ironed cover (for Dsis and her DH's stay). So...it is all in a big bulky lump and I have left it for DH to 'help' me with when he comes in. I'm just being pathetic but i wasn't half annoyed at the stupid thing.
Anyway, I'm off to meet him in the pub for a quick drinkie before tea. We haven't done that for ages .
Have a good evening all. Mind the icy roads in the morning - I think it's tonight that temps are to fall?? Saw geese overhead anyway and I can't imagine they are flying anywhere colder!

Just had someone at the door trying to sell me a new phone line saying "Did you receive the phone call to say that the phone lines have been upgraded in your area and you now get free phone calls for life, and can I ring a number using your phone to initiate it"
He was told to go forth and multiply in no uncertain terms bloody shister :mad:
What annoys me is that this is a no cold calling zone and there are a lot of elderly people who might well fall for it :mad: So have sent DS running up to all the ones that we know to warn them.

Another rant is a coming.

Has anyone noticed that all things that are v.a.t.able have increased in price just before the rise in January. Sounds like the supermarkups are taking the Pee :mad:

Glad to get that lot of my ample bosom just hate being taken for a ride.

Dinner tonight is pork chops with roasties, kale, carrots and gravy for the boys and I will have a lamb chop
