Thank you, everyone.
I have a quick question - I had a leak under my sink and my washing powder got wet. Luckily it was only a small amount in the bottom of the box but now it's solid. Do you think it's ok to use still? I don't want to throw it out, obviously. I used some his morning and just chucked a cup of water in the drawer after it to help break it up a bit - but will this wreck my machine in the long run? I think there are probably 10 washes worth left in there. Thanks.
USE IT! DONT WASTE IT. The times I have got damp powder over the years.!!
You could put it in a cup of warm water and melt it and pour it into the machine via the drawer if your worried that it won't break down.
It wont damage your machine at all. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Hi everyone
Slow start today. Really having problems getting rid of this flu bug and feel rather "hingy". It's been just over a week now. Thoroughly tired of it all. Poor DH is taking just as long, as is anyone else we've heard of that's caught it. Blah!
Going to do some listy stuff, then settle down with some knitting I think. I've been tempting myself with crewel-work kits. Love crewel work, but I think the last time I embroidered anything was in primary school, so I may be being a tad ambitious!
See you all soon. x

Helly, don't waste it, break it up with an old knife / spoon, if need be hit it with a rolling pin, to granulate it, then use it.

Helly...
Teething.. anbesol liquid!! I swear by the stuff. a Nuby nibbler or similar filled with ice/milk cubes or frozen fruit (pear, mango etc freeze nicely) or cold carrot... numbs gums.
Wash powder.. mine is often wet.. it is absolutely fine!.. bast it about and it becomes powder again.
Naughty toddlers.. firm boundaries, consistent punishments and knowing what those boundaries are punishments are. Have a read of 1,2,3 Magic.. it is fabulous and sensible and easy to implement. We do 'time out' of sitting in silence (or as near as) on a kitchen chair for 5 minutes. bigger ones (yes my 15 y/o too) have time to reflect and younger ones time to forget what they were doing and calm down. I banned icky additives and sweets/biscuits too..

Hello all.
Cyclingyorkie sorry for your loss. x
Hellyboo paws crossed that some cash gets paid in.
I shall be AWOL again tomorrow - Mr LW is using up another day's leave, and I hope we can get another door done over the course of the weekend, or at least get a good start on it. The 1st one is now done, on the hall cupboard.:j
I also have another dog-sitting booking, 23rd to 30th December, for a Greyhound.:T It does mean the doors will be put on hold again though, as machine tools and smelly varnish are not a good idea with four-legged guests in a tiny bungalow.
Anyways, I've dusted and dewebbed everything I can get to in the bedroom and the spare room (although getting to anything in there is very difficult at present); luckily for me, quite a bit of today's and tomorrow's lists don't actually apply here.;)
I have a blistering headache today, which is making things somewhat more difficult;:( hope it goes away soon, Mr LW's pal is coming over this evening (he had to cancel last week, as something cropped up at short notice), so I'll be required to at least attempt to be sociable. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
PenPen glad to hear that your DH is en route now:T and he can enjoy his Christmas without work overshadowing him.

Dusty :T:T:Tyay for the fence - hope he makes a good job and it gets done quickly
macpep thats great news that you are busy with orders - the housework will wait until next week:T
hellyboo keep your chin up honey - think positive as much as you can - it does help and I am sure DH's work thing will sort itslef out too.
Mudders glad you are on the mend (((hugs from a safe distance!)))
Mooloo when is moving day? and have you been decluttering stuff?
jassa have a lovely weekend

Got quite a few Christmas things too so will get that sorted this weekend and see where I am up to.

Afternoon all
Not caught up with yesterday's posts yet let alone today! Still, I've done all the housework so that's the main thing. Yesterday we went out and ordered our new television so we can finally see things in widescreen instead of missing what's happening left and rightComing next week.
This morning I thought the (almost new) washing machine was broken but after 10 minutes panic DH worked out that somehow the child lock had been activated. Can only think one of the cats knocked it because the dog is too decrepit to reach up there nowadays.
Hope everyone's OK, I'm going to try to catch up now before dragging poor old dog out in the cold again.0 -
The paperwork took 45 mins in the end but it is finally all sorted. It was mostly old letters and would have been done a lot quicker had I not read them all. I feel a bit bad getting rid of them but I haven't read them since I received them and they are clutter we can do without. I found a really nice card OH sent me about 6 months into our relationship, I am looking forward to showing it to him when he gets in. There are a few things like that which I am keeping. Now I have sorted out the paperwork the last hotspot has disappeared in the LR :j
