I won't be using my Asda credit card or shopping in Asda again.

For the sake of £7 pay cash next time as its embarrassing to pay such a low amount on a CC.
Why is it embarrassing?! A most "odd" statement to make.
Why not use your CC for everything? I do - I'll even put 70p on my card if I want. Personally, I try not to keep cash on me as it only ends up getting "wasted" in vending machines, etc at work - which is bad for both my wallet and my health!
Therefore, almost all my transactions are done with plastic - be that buying milk or doing a £50 grocery shop - it makes no difference to me.My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you?

When I returned home that day, my Asda credit card statement had been delivered requesting that I pay the balance of £7 off by 3rd November 2010. As I had returned the goods, I thought that would be classed as payment.
On the 3rd November, Asda took £7 from my Nationwide current account to pay for the credit card, so I am now £7 worse off and have no goods to show for it.
To add insult to injury, I received my latest credit card bill yesterday and have now been charged a late payment fee of £12 despite the £7 shown credited twice on my statement.
Well Asda have really !!!!ed me off this time, so they will be finding my credit card cut in two in their post this week and they won't ever see me again.
Have you considered the impact on the employees just before Christmas. Is the Chairman of ASDA aware of this impending disaster for his global empire?0 -

Have you considered a Tesco credit card, they offer clubcard points which you can use to purchase Omega watches from Goldsmiths.
The Tesco card would have treated a refund in exactly the same way.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
its embarrassing to pay such a low amount [£7] on a CC.
Really? Wish someone had told me earlier!
Next time, I'll be sure to remember this so that the staff don't burst into fits of laughter once I've left the shop!
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -

Have you ever tried to talk to them? When I had a problem with my new ASDA card late last year I tried to talk to them. Indian call centre at it's worst. All at 10p a minute!
I refuse to call them after that and now currently I have 3 queries on their secure messaging about not being able to view statements through the web site, which after 2 weeks haven't been answered even though the confirmation said they would try and respond in 48 hours.
It's getting to the point where we part our ways.:mad:0 -

But had the OP paid for the rice cooker in cash, none of the current drama would have happened:
Buy rice cooker - pay in cash --- return rice cooker - get cash back --- End of story
Well, that might have been too simple!
