Really interesting reading and although I wish none of us were in debt its nice to know you're not on you're own! I've got about £5 worth - almost paid of a loan and the rest is on Credit cards. Its a mixture of living beyond means but not ridiculously os -using cards to but food, car insurance etc and lettin git build up over the years. In the summer I'd had enough of it all and turned a corner in my attitude - to get out of debt! The problem was that I am self employed too and didn't earn in AUgust. I didn't really do much but in September didn't have any money coming in/pay day so used a card to get by. I haven't missed a payment for ages until this month and feel cross with myself. The only good news is that I have worked constently for 2 months so by Dec I'll be flush! Will have enough to clear the loan and on credit card and still have enough for crimbo. Last year I cancelled buying presents for friends and although it was embarrassing to have to say to them "you ain't getting anything this year" I felt better not having the pressure! Will buy small and cheapyly this year.
I know its tempting going into shops but the bargain fridge in Sainsbury's is amazing! xVIRGIN £1336.00 EGG £1759.58 HSBC £2177.39

Tonight I have cancelled our local newspaper subscription. Saving £10 per month but that's £120 per year :T I hardly ever read it and could probably find the same news online for free. Plus it wakes up cat at the weekend who then wakes me up for his breakfast. Maybe I might get more of a lie in.
£10 per month and lie ins at the weekend - fantasticHope your meltdown moment is easing... the odd mini-meltdown is not a bad thing, certainly keeps me focused!
Enjoy your lie in tomorrow!I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...0 -
i stopped buying newspapers two monthes ago if my lot want them then they can buy them, i bought them but never had time to read them. Since then when i have chance to read them in the staff canteen they seem like a waste of money. I buy a magazine once a month as some of my friends do then we swop them.:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

Meltdown is more of a small simmer now. Feeling much better and had huge money discussion with BF after meltdown which has helped.
Today we got a renewal for household appliance insurance (dishwasher) and worked out it would probably be cheaper to fix it than insure it. So £5.72 PCM saved
I only bother with magazines if I'm away somewhere (not v often but was nice to read mags last time we were in a travelodge when we went to see my parents). I got a magazine the other day using my Clubcard points gained voucher but mostly as I wanted the free nail polish. I don't really miss them much either.
Have 3 days allowed holiday left (i wasnt going to use) and this week is really quiet so moved some clients (4) around so taking Wednesday offI'm looking forward to it too. I really can't see it will make a lot of difference to this months pay. I really struggled to motivate myself to go to work today so this really helps. It's like a reward for all those days I dragged my butt into the office.
I'm forever having meltdowns, you can only pick yourself up and keep going! Often you find you come up with a solution that makes a small saving and every little bit helps!

I always pay as much as I can at payday which doesn't leave me a lot to PAD during the month. I do however mainly deal in cash, so any small change I've got goes into a pot so I PAD that when I get it."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

must have been on the same wavelength i cut my fringe yesterday does'nt look to bad at the mo but did'nt cut alot off it like i usually do, then feels guilty when i go to the hairdressers for a proper cut. I didn't go to my works do either on Friday. We are having an office buffet lunch though this week which we all contribute to, so I shall take part in that.
