  • Christmassy hamper MUST have a copy of the Muppets Christmas Carol. Absolute must, under all and any circumstances. And Miracle on 34th Street (1947 one) makes me sob every time. Oh, and a nut cracker, and a cd of the music from the ballet. And a cheesy CD of Christmas songs.

Okay, going to make lunch for my grumpy husband, and the back to work.

Just had a phone call from Veronica at UK CLaims

Ok - so my bank is due me roughly £800 in PPI and bank charges!!!

Only I've never had a loan - and apart from a a couple of charges that were refunded never had any of those either.:D

    So I play along.

Q Sorry what was you name again?
A Veronica (In a Bengal Accent - yes loads of Indian friends and can identify several accents)
Q Veronica? Thats a nice, whats your surname hon?
    A Veronica Lake
Q As in the actress - thats lovely!
A Thank you - your bank is due you £800
    Q Thats interesting, really interesting
A If you could just confirm your details
    Q But you phoned me?
A Yes but I need your details to proceed.
    Q What kind of thing?
    A Name, address, bank details
Q But you must have those?
A No - I need them from you
Q But you are sure the bank owes me £800?
    A Yes!
Q But you don't have any details?
    A Erm! No.
    Q Good
    A Pardon
Q Then I don't have to report you to the Information Commissoner for breaching the Data Protection Act. Did you know all the bank charge reclaims are on hold?
    A Sorry
Q Its a scam love - suggest you go looking for a new job.
    A Its real
Q Nope its not! Now I'm regaistered with the TPS so please remove me from your list

I have just had a strange experience or a kick up the proverbial from the Universe!

Went to visit the elderly neighbour of the old lady who died on Monday. Was dreading it as she's very sad, loney and quite frail herself. She tells me to make myself a drink whilst she finishes talking to her daughter AS SHE NEEDS TO TALK TO ME:eek:

    The jist of the conversation:
Her: You have been unhappy and unwell.
Me: Yes but am slowly getting over it.
Her: You're looking at this the wrong way
    Me: Errr.......
Her: That job wasn't quite right for you ( How did she know about job?)
    ME: Errrrr......
Her: Go home and read that book again and digest it - the answers there. I'm now putting out to THE UNIVERSE that it be kind to you.
    Just listen properly.

By which time I'm totally freaked but in a nice sort of way. I'm not sure what it means(yet) but it's certainly given me food for thought.

That is *amazing*. I've had one experience like that - it felt like the consciousness of my guardian angel had entered this man I happened to meet on a train. Truly weird.

Robsmum, let us know what happens/what jumps out when you read the book again.
