Well done MG. I bet that warmed you up nicely. Did the boys help or sit on the sofa [STRIKE]directing[/STRIKE] watching?
My Mum always got on her hands and knees to scrub the carpet at Christmas (it was the only time she did any cleaning - bless, thats probably why she overdid it when she bothered)Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

Me thinks you sound very hormonal today.
Seriously Fantasia, it sounds to me like you have had a bit of a day and that you are really at the end of your tether. Apart from the snow what is bothering you? Sit down and write a list, on the left write all of your niggles from today, on the right all of the nice things about your day (even the smallest like something Rob said maybe) then focus on the good things and reason out the bad. Deep breaths. At least you can come and rant on hereHave a group hug.

15 minutes blitz and then I'm going to join the kids on the sofa with my knitting I think ................... to cold to think about being in the rest of the house.
MG
Hi MG, well done but I hope the carpet really needed cleaning. As to the snow, although we are not snowed in, we have some. I have to be careful what I wish for - if it continues to snow my trip to Warsaw tomorrow might tunr out to ve somewhat problematic.

Oh dear Fantasia
Cherisong's right, sit down and have a think about what's really getting to you, and rant in here all you need to... All this weather is frustrating for anyone trying to get anywhere, tempers are bound to run a little high! xx

People of the Matrix, the Universe has delivered big time! Remember that couple of months ago I was saying how work refused to buy me a Kindle? Well, I got so cross (particularly given the amount of money I have brought into the organisation in the last year) that for the first time ever asked for a computer. And not any computer - a super duper Dell (the one that is a laptop and a tablet). And I got it! So today I received:
1) more memory and a battery for my old (six years) Dell;
2) my new Dell.
And as you know I got a Kindle for my Birthday. But most happy that some kind of justice has been restored and that I am learning how to use the resources that my employer still provides but needs a bit of a nudge to remember.
Tomorrow I am off to Warsaw - the second key note. Given that the first was such a success with a bit of help from the Matrix, could I ask for your support again? The key note itself is on Friday morning about 8 UK time.
Keep warm, stay inside except if absolutely necessary to go out and have fun.

More snow here - happy to send it down Saff if people want it.
I'm just hoping that it all clears up in the next week so I can make the trip to see my nephew.2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0 -
Well the snow was nice for a day but I am so fed up with it now. Like many others I've not made it to work all week due as haven't been able to get off our estate or get DD to nursery. I've never seen so much snow before. The car is buried under a foot and a half of snow and poor DH has had to walk about 3 miles thru it to work (the joys of self employment eh??). Hope everyone is surviving the weather and is keeping warm and staying safe.
Fantasia - Hope you are ok? Remember I'm just down the road if you need an ear to bend (although maybe a bit difficult with all the snow at the mo )
MG - Thanks ever so much for posting the hobnob recipe. A wonderful 'secret santa' gift. I can't wait to try it out although I hope it is fairly 'idiot proof' as my attempt at being a 'domestic goddess' today was an outright failure!!! I decided on Banana bread to use up old bananas - got recipe off internet - didn't have a loaf tin so used muffin cases and a stoneware oven dish - all rose beautifully - feeling quite smug - all sank rapidly leaving me with stodgy banana flatbread!!! Oh well, at least I tried...
Well, the heating is on, I've a wee glass of wine poured and some nice candles burning. Just away to catch up on recent events on the thread. I may be some time.....

P.S. MG I still haven't had my logon to the matrix forum. Let me know if you need me to send my email address again. x0
